A Flogging Powerhouse
The Chain of Platina Flog-Her is an amazingly great-quality and unique flogger - as long as you know how to handle your flogger and understand that this is a very stingy flogger. It's high-quality, very unique, and absolutely beautiful; you just need to understand that this is not a flogger meant for beginners.

Cons
NOT for beginners, Very stingy, Can do SERIOUS damage if you're not knowledgeable/careful
The Chain of Platina Flog-Her is a high-quality flogger made by Ruff Doggie Styles. Yes, the flogger tails are actually chain. This flogger is not weighted. The picture on the product page accurately displays the flogger, and the measurements appear to be right too. There isn't much packaging to the Chain of Platina Flog-Her. It just comes with a small tag on the handle of the flogger that is easy to remove.
Ruff Doggie Styles is an amazing company, and as soon as I saw this flogger, I fell in love. We've owned a ton of different Ruff Doggie Styles items, and they never disappoint. I've had one experience with a crop that wasn't positive, but aside from that, the 15 other Ruff Doggie Styles items we own have been made from great quality and hold up just as well. No, they aren't $200-quality, but for the price, I honestly think it's hard to find better quality floggers, and the Chain of Platina Flog-Her is no different.
The flogger is made from leather at the handle and chain for the tails. There are nine separate tails. Each one of the chains is long and thin - about 1/5 inch in width. Each one of the ends of the chains is just a chain link - including the aspect of the chain link where the two ends of the chain have been squeezed together which sometimes leaves a scratchy surface. As long as you don't wrap-around or hit purely with the tips, though, you probably won't get cut up. For the most part, it just leaves surface scratches if it does scratch.
This flogger requires some EXPERT handling. And I put that in caps because it's not a "Well, you should be an expect" thing. I mean, you need to be an expert. You need to have handled quite a few floggers and KNOW you can hit where you want to hit. Why? Well, it's chains! C'mon now! These chains, especially if you get into the scene, can actually harm someone if you hit them in the wrong place - and in the "oh shit" kind of harm - not the giggly kind. Because the chains are so heavy, wrap-around hurts even more, so again, make sure you know how to handle a flogger. Handling is even more difficult with this one because of the longer handle and the long tails as well. The longer handle and tails mean you need to know what you're doing - longer floggers are always harder to control. Plus, the tails are made of metal which will instantly off-balance the flogger right from the get-go. Again, not beginners allowed.
Honestly, this is not a beginner flogger. At all. I mean, I'm sure you could have guessed that by the fact that it's made of chain. Even for the two of us, who play a lot, we don't use this flogger nearly at full capacity. It's mostly a light and gentle swing. A full-on hit really, really hurts - especially depending on where you hit with it. For most practical use, most couples will probably be using this as a lighter hit - though if you like things rough, the harder hits can definitely get rough. A very, very soft swing is slightly thuddy with a bit of scratch, and anything more than very, very soft starts into stinginess and scratchiness. This is not a downside - it's what the flogger really is designed for.
For the sake of safety, I'm really against sharing this with non-fluid bonded people. The chains are going to scratch the skin - even microscopically. If you know some stuff about sterilization, you might be able to get away with bleaching for sterilization, but again, make sure you know what you're doing. For regular cleaning, a warm soak in soap and water for the tails should clean them and then a slightly damp washcloth to wipe down the handle of the flogger. Don't soak the handle.
If you know you have the skill to handle this flogger and know your partner will enjoy a stingy or scratchy sensation, I say go for it. It's beautiful, it's going to last, and it's a good quality flogger. However, know your own limitations, and know if this flogger will be best for you. If you think it will be, then go for it.
