A Fantastic Leather Collar - The Herringbone Collar
The Herringbone collar is a very fantastic collar. It has amazing craftsmanship, a great feel around the neck, and is easily conditioned. Over all, it is a very sturdy collar that can be worn for many occasions, and will most likely last for a long time if well cared for. The Herringbone collar is a fantastic buy, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good, sleek leather collar.

Pros
Great Craftsmanship/sturdy leather/great look/easy maintenance
Cons
The belt loop on the back of the collar.
This collar is great for nearly everything. For bondage play, it makes a very nice collar because of the ring. The style and look are great which makes it good for every day wear, too, for those who like to wear collars everywhere.
This collar is well designed. It is thin, and doesn't make ones' neck look “short”. The inside of the collar is suede, which is an unfinished leather. The outside is a black finished leather. The herringbones are white leather and black leather. When I say white leather, I mean white leather. It isn't painted white, which adds to the charm of this collar. It is 22 inches long, and about 1 1/4th inches wide.
There are five holes at the end of the collar that make for great adjustments for nearly any neck. If an additional hole is needed, there is space to add one in. The feel to the collar is great when worn!
This collar is absolutely beautiful, and has many pros to the design. The collar itself is thin, with well cut herringbone’s across the middle. The stitching that was done on this collar is phenomenal, well done to a point this collar should stand up to wear and tear. This is one of the things I like about this collar, because I enjoy wearing a collar all the time, and it will definitely get some use. The leather is flawless as well, and I didn't notice any stiffness to the leather. I've seen/done a lot with leather, so the collar didn't bother me at all.
The only con that I could find with this collar is the leather loop that is right after the buckle that can be aggravating to slip the leftover length of the collar into, or pull it out of. It's too close to the buckle for my tastes, and I have a terrible time putting it on by myself. There is room to add a hole at the end to make the collar larger, but not much room to make it smaller. However, with the holes that are already in place with this collar, it should be a great fit.
Personally, I use a good, light saddle soap on the exterior of this collar. Always test your leather before using saddle soap on its entirety, as different pieces of leather will react different ways. It will not only clean the collar, it will preserve the look of it; condition, and soften the leather. It contains a mild soap with neatsfoot oil, glycerin, lanolin, and bees wax to protect the leather. Saddle Soap can be found at any western store, or bought online. Be very sparing with saddle soap and never use it on an area that will come in contact with delicate skin or mucus membranes as it can cause irritation. Buff with a soft clean cloth after to bring up the shine of the leather and remove excess product.
The suede interior is a bit more difficult to clean and condition. Mink oil would work well for conditioning. Suede is an unfinished leather, so using saddle soap will most likely ruin the inside of the leather.
I know it sounds a little tedious using two different products on this collar, but it really will help preserve and maintain the look of your collar over time.
As a side note, if you notice your collar beginning to fade, don't despair. This is a common problem with leather, it has nothing to do with the quality of this product.
The packaging was only a tag that was attached to the collar. I'm very glad that I didn't order anything that could spill onto it with the order I received this collar in. I would really prefer if they packaged it in a bag, which is common for collars, as it makes for for safer shipping. If they, maybe, gave it a decorative box, that too would be fine. The tag that was with it wasn't especially pornographic, it simply was pink, with a woman wearing a collar on it. Overall, it was pretty bland.

Experience
I opened this collar and put it on right away. It fit me perfectly and had a great look to it right away. The suede was slightly itchy and gruff, but nothing terribly noteworthy. After a short time of wearing it, it stopped itching. One thing I really enjoyed about the collar was the way the metal buckle didn't rub on my neck. Metal tends to make me break out in hives. Since I don't have to worry about that with this collar, it really made me happy. It was great to put on, and very comfortable, so much so that I wore it all day. I love wearing collars, but I'm also very picky about them. I am just very thrilled that this one meets those standards, because I wasn't quite sure about it when I picked it out for my review. However, it fits great, looks wonderful, and I love wearing it.
Follow-up commentary
1 month after original review
The Herringbone collar has definitely held up for me. It still has shown no cracks in the leather, no fading. It simply is fantastic. I still have to recommend this collar to anyone who is looking for a good, straight leather collar. The craftsmanship is remarkable, and the look is sleek and gorgeous. If something was to ever happen to my Herringbone collar, I would replace it right away because I am that impressed with the style and workmanship.
Finding a collar like this one is hard. Most collars that sport "white" on any type of leather is usually painted on, not the quality white leather like in the Herringbone collar. It is an all around good buy, and with proper maintenance and care, it will last for years.

How well do the herringbone studs stay in the collar? I've had problems with some leather goods losing their studs. Are they really secure after many wearings?
