Spartacus delivers a featherlight and unisex design that will keep you coming back to snapping this on. Venturing into a sea of choices, this collar outshines many with it's colored gems and offer of comfort. For more of a soft feel to your BDSM play, this collar packs a lot of glam and durability. The leather feels, smells, and holds up nicely, while the fur inlay works on your comfort level while you play.
Most collars make me cringe with the threat of uncomfortable leather, heavy buckles, the scratchy feel, and an annoying fit.
Expect none of the above from a collar lined with faux fur, but with the Divinity collar, you not only get comfort but a more feminine, jeweled approach to the traditional collar look. No matter what your use, be it for sheer decoration or for more naughty situations, this collar was designed to please.
You can wear this simply for the design, or for a little kinky play wherever you choose. Pair it with a leash, or let it do it's magic on it's own. This collar aims to serve you.
This collar is worth the small price, if not for the fact that it's designed well enough to last you a while, but because of it's comfort level and overall look.
The fur is securely attached in most places, and around the edges it pulls away from the leather a bit, but that's to be expected. It's extremely soft and nice on the sensitive skin of the neck. The gems are firmly in place in the metal cases and don't look as if they'll fall out with a lot of use, and the snaps hold pretty well when the collar is pulled on a bit. The leather is nice to the touch, smooth and seamless. I would consider this to be well enough made to be worth the money, though it may not last years if you're into harsher play and if there is a lot of tugging involved on the product.
There are four different snaps to adjust size. The smallest fits my neck tightly. My neck is a small 13'' around and the tightest snap clings to that tightly. The largest hangs off of me, and I find the most comfort on the 3rd snap in. The closure will adjust from 12'' all the way to 16''.
There's a slight leather smell when unpackaging it, but that's to be expected from most leather products. The collar itself is lightweight and flexible, as it weighs in at just 0.1 lb.
I love that Spartacus included a Trojan soldier symbol on the closing clasp of the snaps. It adds a nice little touch for those looking close enough at the design to appreciate.
This collar also includes a D-Ring for leash or chain attachment and a decorative buckle that I found to be a nice addition.
For those of you who are curious, the leather is Cowhide leather.
As far as my needs go with this collar? Met. Expectations? As was expected.
As far as collars in general go, you can only do so much with them. This one held up well during use and didn't give me any troubles. The fur inlay is comfortable and may be softer than many would think, and the adjustable snaps make for a product that could fit a wide variety of necks.
I like the D-ring and have used it with a leash in practice. It was comfortable and didn't damage the collar when tugged on, so I can say that this collar can stand a little rough housing and wear. I wouldn't go all out with it and tug on it all the time like you could with some of the heavier duty collars out there, but it's mainly nice for those who want to add a softer touch to their BDSM play.
The leather is of course, water resistant, but I can't suggest bringing this in the shower with you. The fur would get wet and probably come apart easier than if you just kept it dry, and generally, you want to keep your leather products away from moisture.
Leather is pretty easy to care for in the fact that it's really durable and isn't going to tear on you if you get a little too rough. It generally takes a lot to ruin a leather product, but if you notice your collar cracking and looking dry, you may want to pick up a leather conditioner to keep it in good shape.
Any substances that you don't want on your collar after play will usually come off with a damp rag and a quick wipe down. This won't damage your product and you can even use a milder soap on it if you feel the need.
As for storage, put this anywhere you like. I've kept mine in it's original packaging and in a drawer. Sometimes, I carry it around with me places on the go. It's not going to damage your sex toys or get ruined in most storage areas.
The packaging is almost as pretty as the product itself. It's a plastic case that the collar sits in that closes together with a snap. On front, the name of the collar is pictured with a portrait of a model wearing it. On the flip side, there's a bit of information about the measurements of the collar and the materials it's made of.
If you aren't too worried about space, the packaging would be nice to store the product in. It's not small, however it isn't all that large and could fit easily in a drawer. I prefer keeping mine in the case just to keep it clean.
As far as the level of discreetness, it's hard to say. It doesn't look like a sex toy, but rather a flashy piece of jewelry on the box, as well as the model - but some might put two and two together and guess that the collar is for more uses than just one. It's a matter of opinion how discreet the packaging is, but personally, I don't find it to be all that flashy or attention grabbing.
This collar completes a set with matching wrist cuffs and a blindfold, all of which are nice and worth the price. I like this collar because it's one of the only more feminine alternatives on Eden and works well for either sex. I'm a fan of blue and the different shades of blue on the collar.
The product being so light weight makes it easy to be comfortable not taking it off. Thank goodness for that, because my partner never really wants me to. We bought this for some pet play and haven't been disappointed. The comfort level makes me have faith in mostly all fur-lined collars, but the Divinity is unique in the fact that the color scheme is one of a kind and even has other pieces to match it available for purchase. I'm a fan of Eden carrying this and have wanted it for a while, and when we finally got it, I have to say the wait was worth it. I carry this around with me by demand of my partner because we never really know when we're going to need it, but like to have it on hand for play parties and wherever our nights take us. She likes to pull on it when we're having sex from behind, and the collar can withstand that kind of wear, so I'm positive when I say that it is pretty durable and can handle a good bit.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it4 months after original review
Not the most top of the line collar, but cute and comfortable it does provide. I still like wearing it and find that I am still getting my money's worth out of it. It's yet to break or show signs of wear as much as I use it, so I feel it was a great buy.
