The Metal Worx Luv Plug is really something to lust after. It is the first/only rigid anal plug I own, and I enjoy warming this one up and putting it to good use. With it being nonporous, temperature play ready and a hefty but not overbearing weight, you can't go wrong.

Pros
Nonporous, weight (for some), temperature play, ergonomic
Pipedream's Metal Worx Luv Plug is an anal plug made of polished steel intended for anal use that has a slight curve which could be beneficial for prostate stimulation. This toy is best suited for anyone who wants to experiment with a quality, nonporous anal toy. Since it is a butt plug, thrusting is possible but unnecessary with this one. It stays in place well, can be worn alone or during penetration and it is great for temperature play.
The Luv Plug is made of polished steel. It is nonporous, latex and phthalates free and great for temperature play. It is free of any odor or scent. In addition, it is free of any texture, giving this plug a nice, sleek feel.
Despite the fact that the metal is sleek and not grabby by any means, it is important to always be generous with lubrication when inserting anal toys. The anal tissue is very sensitive and a small tear can be asking for big trouble, especially considering what comes out of there. I prefer to use water-based lubricant with all my toys because it is universally safe with all materials, but oil or silicone-based lubes with this toy would be acceptable.
Its texture is very firm and unforgiving. Individuals who decide to try this plug should be aware that it is not soft or plushy like silicone and other materials. Once inserted, this plug feels cool like glass, except colder, in my opinion. I do not like to use my toys cold, even vaginally. Steel is good at retaining heat, so I always let the plug sit in warm water (not hot!) before use. Even if I opt to skip this step, the Luv Plug eventually warms up to my body's temperature once inserted after a few minutes - I just don't like the initial shock of cold, hence this review's title.
The Luv Plug has an awesome shape. It's got a bulbous head, and another bulge mid-shaft. Having two skinnier areas of the toys helps it stay in place better, and it gives a fun sensation during insertion and removal. It has an insertable length of 3.5 in. and a total length of 4.5 in. Its handle is 1 in. long and 2 in. wide, giving it enough room to slip a couple fingers through to manipulate the toy. At the head it has a diameter of 1.25 in, and mid-shaft it reaches just under 1 in. There is a skinny groove beneath the head/between these two areas that is just over 3/4 in. The skinniest portion of the toy is where it meets the handle, measuring in at a diameter of 1/2 in.
The toy is angled to give P-spot stimulation. If this toy was used vaginally, it could potentially give G-spot stimulation, as well. The Luv Plug has a nice weight and an ergonomic shape that can be comfortable for both men and women.
As if this toy wasn't already aesthetically appealing, the makers at Pipedream decided this plug wouldn't be complete without a gem encrusted in the handle. It has stayed in place well, and it's really sparkly!
The Luv Plug doesn't look exactly like your typical anal plug, but it probably wouldn't be hard for someone to figure out what it is.
Would I recommend this toy to an anal beginner? Probably not. However, someone who is seasoned in the area of anal play and prefers rigid textures would probably get a lot of enjoyment out of this one. Here is a photo of the Luv Plug compared to Doc Johnson's Mood Naughty plug, size large.
The Luv Plug has an awesome design and functions well. It stays in place during wear, and stays in place pretty well during penetration. I had this toy inserted during vaginal penetration, and I did feel it moving around a bit. I'm assuming this is due to the amount of lubricant I used, and the fact that this toy doesn't really have any grab to it.
Its varying shaft size/bulbs makes it fun and exciting to insert. Once you get it in, you get that lovely "Ahhh!" feeling, like a deep sigh of pleasure. Again, metal is great for temperature play, so it can be heated in glass of warm water prior to use if you're like me and don't like it cold.
Its narrow handle makes the Luv Plug comfortable to wear around the house, but I have not done so for extended periods of time. If I do wear a plug around the house, I prefer it to be made of a softer, more forgiving material.
Since the Luv Plug is made of polished steel, it is nonporous and very easy to care for. This toy can be cleaned using toy wipes, spray, or antibacterial soap and water. It is compatible with all lubricants, though I personally prefer to use water-based.
The great thing about this plug being made out of metal is that it is rigid and nonporous, and won't hold any lingering ass smells.
I prefer to store my plug in its original packaging. It comes packaged in a black and silver box and the plug itself sits inside in a foam cut out.
The Luv Plug comes packaged in a neat little box that is perfect for storage. There is a photo of the plug on top of the box, but it is a decal sticker and would not be hard to peel off.
The bottom side of the box is informational and explains some of the plug's qualities, as you can see above. The box is durable and fantastic for storage and travel.
Pipedream's Metal Worx Luv Plug isn't my favorite anal plug, but it's high in the rankings. The polished steel is just too cold and rigid for my taste. Regardless, it is getting 5/5 stars from me based on quality, aesthetics and functionality.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it2 months after original review
This really is a nice quality plug that has been safely tucked away in its original packaging. I've only used this one a handful of times since the time I wrote my original review, and it has held up well. There are no scratches or scuff marks, thanks to the super-padded box it came in. I still prefer silicone plugs, since they are more forgiving, but I especially like this one for temperature play.
