Works in a pinch; spend the extra if you want the extra quality!
Overall, it worked really well for each of us in our own ways. It may be a bit much for him right now, but maybe later it'll work out and be even better than it is for me. It's decent, but there's better out there. For a bit more money, you can have a lot more stimulation and fun! This will work in a pinch if that's not an option.

Pros
Somewhat flexible, hypoallergenic, smooth texture
Cons
Dull vibrations, large head
I was given the Lux by the manufacturer with instructions to review it. I'll be honest here, I was given two. They know too much about my personal life.
The first was for me... not necessarily to use on the prostate because I am a girl, but because I was hunting for an medium sized anal toy and couldn't find anything between 'dinky' and 'penis' that was worth a thing. This was perfect for my intended use, as I enjoy anal stimulation during intercourse. With every rock of my hips, the Lux rubbed me inside as if I were truly getting a full-size DP. Unlike regular butt plugs of the same width, this one doesn't have the 'pop out' factor. The word 'amazing' doesn't begin to explain how it felt. The slight upward curve on the base of the tail provided a little extra stimulation right by the perineum and rubbed him as well.
That is enough about me. The second one was for my guy. Although we have played a bit with fingers and I've caused some insane orgasms for him, my fingers do get tired. Plus, new toys are fun!
Unfortunately, we found some rough edges on his. After taking a nail file to them and washing thoroughly, we were back in business! Compared to another stimulator I bought him (an Aneros Eupho), the Lux is larger at the head and the angle really juts forward. This might be too much pressure on his prostate for now, sadly. We can only use this one on him for short periods of time, whereas the higher-end Aneros non-vibrating ones and our Rocks Off Rude Boy (vibrating) can be used for hours (he's even fallen asleep with them in). The material is firmer on the Lux than the Aneros. We also noticed that this base doesn't have the extra arched inward angle to it that the Aneros does either. The Aneros is angled forward, pushing and rubbing across the prostate when the toy flexes, while the Luxe sits on the prostate and kind of rubs around as the body flexes instead.
The Lux's large head (about two fingers wide) would have been very intimidating for him had this been our first toy. For a reasonably priced, all-silicone option, replacement, or just trying something new, I don't see any reason not to pick one up and check it out. While the Lux does its job, albeit in a different manner, it's probably not something we'd go out and purchase if it ever broke. Instead, we'd replace it with another Aneros or Nexus. However, we'd gladly try another if the manufacturer worked on the design a bit.
The thickness of this silicone plug actually seems to dull out some of the vibrations. Thinner or harder toys conduct vibrations better and thus the sensation is more intense. Keep this in mind if stimulation from vibrations is what really works for you.
As far as ratings go - I think that the Lux's size is fairly average because although it's larger than most beginner prostate stimulators (almost twice as large), it's average when compared to intermediate toys and much smaller than some of the advanced ones. The features are above average with the rippled, angled head and the curvy tail. By the way, the tail is functional, despite the bulbous, art-nouveau look. The Lux is made out of plain and smooth silicone. It appears that it may have been molded in halves and then melted together based on the seam. It's very durable; you could probably jump on it without breaking it (although I wouldn't), and you certainly can throw it on a concrete floor to watch it bounce.
