The P3 from Evolved Novelties is designed to be one of those clever, all-in-one type items that can be used by anyone for almost anything. The box information states it's an effective prostate stimulator, while suggesting it can be used for G-spot stimulation, general stimulation, and a host of other activities. Its main function, however, is to be an insertable toy. Men are to apply some lubricant, insert the P3, and away they go. I'll give you the breakdown of how that worked out later on in this review.

The P3 is a plastic toy covered in some sort of velvety material. The plastic is very rigid and has no flex at all. This is the first thing that annoyed me about this toy. Inserting something relatively long into you, that has no flex at all, means if it doesn't fit right, your body is doing the flexing instead of the toy. I prefer softer toys, personally, to avoid the chance of personal injury. The velvety material on the outside takes lube and holds it nicely, and I'm surprised at how soft the outside of the toy feels, considering it is such a rigid material. The bumps and ridges of the toy give a nice amount of texture during use, and they help to keep the toy in place, but again the hardness of the toy can be a little painful after a while. The very hard plastic helps to transfer vibrations very effectively along the length of the toy, but since the vibrator is already so powerful, the vibrations I get from this toy are so buzzy and hard that I go numb after only a couple minutes.

The P3 is advertised as a prostate toy, and it shares the "T" shape that many prostate toys on the market have. By their very nature, any toy that is a prostate toy is also an anal toy, and so must have a flared base of some kind to keep it from disappearing into the digestive tract and leading to a very embarrassing visit to the doctor. The horizontal section of the P3 has a small button on the end that controls the vibrations. This button and I have a love-hate relationship. The button is extremely sensitive, and only the lightest touch will cause it to cycle through its different modes. The downside to this sensitivity, though, is that this toy can be turned on by almost anything. Nearly every time I have put the P3 away in my toy box, it has turned on the moment I pushed the box back under my bed. Or walked by my bed. Or got in my bed. Or thought about walking by by bed. Basically, you are going to want to remove the batteries whenever you put the P3 away for storage, or you are going to have a very noisy couple of hours as it tries to burrow its way out of your toy box.

Considering the P3 is designed to be inserted into the body and vibrate, I guess you could say it performs as advertised. Beyond that, though, I am a little disappointed in this product. I feel the P3 is too rigid, the vibrations are too powerful, and the item is overall pretty ineffective for me. To be fair though, even though I have used a lot of prostate toys, I tend to have pretty bad luck with them. I have yet to find a P-spot toy that does anything besides annoy me, and the P3 is no exception. The curvature of the insertable section is wrong to apply pressure (and therefore vibrations) to my prostate. The power button location confuses me, and I find it difficult to find and operate when I have the P3 inserted. The ridges and texture of the toy do a fine job of keeping the P3 inside me when in use, but overall I don't see the point of keeping something inside you when it isn't stimulating you very well.

One feature that is nice about the P3 (and something you don't find in prostate toys very often) is that it is waterproof. That makes cleaning it a lot easier, since you don't have to worry about getting soap, water, or lube into the battery compartment where it will cause trouble. Since the P3 is a plastic item, don't use any oil-based anything on it, or you're gonna have a bad time. I usually recommend using an antibacterial alcohol wipe to clean toys, but since the P3 is so textured and bumpy, I found the wipe doesn't get into the cracks and crevices very well. Better clean this one in the sink.

I tend to try to keep my toys in the packages they arrive in until I figure out where to keep them. I found this to be a poor choice with the P3, since the blister package it arrives in is pretty much skintight. Normally that is nothing to worry about, but once you put the AAA battery inside the toy and try to put it back in the package, the button gets pressed and the toy starts buzzing like crazy. Usually after you have sealed the package back up and put it in the back of your toy box. It's generally a good idea to remove batteries from toys after use, anyway.
