The Li'l End: A Humble Beginning
"The Li'l End" offers a great, humble beginning. This toy is slightly bigger than a thick middle-finger and is perfect for those looking into anal play. It is smooth, seamless, soft, and pliable. While you can't leave it in while you walk around, I think most toys of this small size would have similar slipping issues. It is perfect to wear during vaginal intercourse, or simply as a warm-up toy during foreplay.

Pros
platinum silicone, hypoallergenic, phthalate free, easy to clean, unintimidating, good for beginners
Cons
Picks up a bit of lint, may be too small to leave inserted while walking around, odor from packaging
When my package arrived, I was excited but nervous, curious but tentative to try something new. I opened the box to see "The Li'l End" awaiting my embrace, sealed neatly in a clam-style plastic package. In purple colors, without any half-nude women or oiled up men donning the insert, I was informed that this anal plug is made by Doc Johnson.
The best use for this toy is, of course, anal play for couples or for something extra during solo masturbation.
On the back of the insert, I found that "The Li'l End" is made entirely of platinum grade silicone, phthalate-free, latex-free, and hypoallergenic. After reading the basics on the toy, I popped that clam shell open to a beautiful, shiny gray butt plug. It may have been "The Li'l End," but it was also an important beginning for me on my foray into anal play. I wanted to waste no time.
Unfortunately, I had to delay my playtime because I was overwhelmed by a weird plastic and berry scent. It seems likely that the silicone butt plug, while odorless, had retained an odd synthetic scent from the plastic packaging. I didn't like it, so I set to washing "The Li'l End" with warm water and antibacterial soap. It was very simple clean-up, which made me excited for the ease of future use. "The Li'l End" is made of silicone, so cleaning the toy is very simple. Washing it with soap, using toy cleaner, or throwing it on the top-rack in your dishwasher will keep it clean. You could also sanitize this toy by wiping it down with a 10% bleach solution, but be sure you rinse that solution off completely before using "The Li'l End" again.
Once the butt plug had aired out, I was finally ready to try it out. The toy felt soft, pliable, and deliciously smooth. No awkward seams or lines on this baby. The base of the plug has "DOCJOHNSON" indented into it, which is a little hard to read clearly. "The Li'l End" is made of silicone, so you will notice a slight drag to the material. I always recommend using lubricant when venturing into anal territory- your bottom does not produce its own lubrication and tears and rips can occur without proper additional lubrication. When reaching for lubricant, do NOT grab your favorite silicone lube. Silicone lube and silicone toys do not go well together, and in most cases, you will end up with a disintegrating toy. I decided to try "The Li'l End" with Maximus, but any water-based lubricant will do just fine.
Now, I have had anal sex before, but I had never experienced anything inside of me other than my partner's fingers or penis. I was very nervous about having something not attached to a human enter me. "The Li'l End" did just fine, it seemed like my partner's finger- a smoother, softer finger that could be left in place! With its insertable length of 3.75" and its widest circumference of 3.25" (diameter of 1"), I found it to be a nice warm-up toy. Oddly enough, it felt almost "pointy" upon insertion. I am not sure if that is the toy necessarily, or just my perception of the tapered tip. It felt a little bigger than a thick finger.

Experience
The base of this toy is large enough to be safe for leaving "The Li'l End" inside of you, but you might find this difficult because of how small the insertable part of the toy is. I was able to wear this butt plug during vaginal intercourse without any problem. However, as soon as I moved out of a horizontal position, I felt uncomfortable, like it might just slip out.
By looking at a picture of the toy, I have to mention that I was worried this toy might be uncomfortable. The base looked bulky to me, and I couldn't imagine it resting nicely in the center of my booty. I was very pleased to discover that the material of the toy felt really nice and not at all hard or jab-y. It nestled into me comfortably.
I also discovered, thanks to the write-up Miss Cinnamon provided on the product page, that this toy has a suction-cup base. You can stick "The Li'l End" onto hard surfaces to "ride it" if you so desire. Pretty neat feature, though the base isn't too strong so you need a shiny hard surface like the shower tile to really make use of it.
Another neat thing about this toy is actually suggested by Doc Johnson on the insert. It warms up to body heat and retains the heat pretty well. I think you could get some light temperature play from this toy. Since you can boil the toy, I think that having a warm (always test it on your wrist) butt plug could be an interesting feeling. I have only personally tested it with cold temperatures though, by running it under cold water first. I think you may be able to put it in the freezer as well.
After my experiments with "The Li'l End," I did note that the toy easily attracts lint and stray pet-hairs (my personal peeve). For storage, I would put this toy somewhere free from lint/dust/stray hair. My "Li'l End" rests in a shoe box when not in use.
I would not call this toy discreet, so I would keep it away from prying eyes. Your innocent neighbor may have no idea what that delightful gray shape is on your bathroom counter, but someone who has a bit more savvy will know instantly.
Overall, I think this toy is great for beginners. It may prove too small for those who have experimented with anal pleasures before. It may also prove too small for those who want a butt plug with which they can wear and walk around. But, for beginners, or those with a foot in the door, "The Li'l End" makes a nice, humble beginning. It has a gentle, gradual taper to it while it appears harmless and unintimidating. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
I still believe that The Li'l End is a great beginner's anal plug. Its material has held up very well to . . . the endeavors of anal pleasure. It has been very easy to clean, and the only complaint I have is that I have to find something (pouch, box) that I can use for storage. The plastic clam shell packaging retains that bizarre grape scent, and it's not discreet enough to leave on a shelf somewhere in my apartment.
I unfortunately must come clean and say that I have not gotten much mileage out of The Li'l End. This is no fault of the toy--I have simply had a rough go with my bowels/digestive tract. I have not been exploring anal as much, but I know that when I am ready and healthy enough to proceed, I will definitely be using this little fellow much more.
