The best thing about Colt the prowler is its multitude of uses. Most sex toys have one or two uses at most, usually serving as both an anal and a vaginal toy, (if a condom is used). Colt has four distinct uses.

Anal:

As an anal toy, be aware that Colt is rather large. At a circumference of 4.5 inches and a diameter of 1.5 inches, it is by far the largest, widest toy I’ve ever used. For those who are new to anal play, or have only done it with smaller toys, insertion may prove difficult. It would be best to work up to a toy this size. In any case, copious amounts of lube, water, silicone, or oil, should be used.
Once inserted, the sensation is powerful, spreading throughout the colon. The Prowler is one of the more intense toys available, reaching the top of the scale at 5 vrooms and when used, every vroom is felt. The Prowler’s power is what makes it such a useful toy, so even if the toy isn’t inserted, putting around the anus will still be pleasurable.

Vaginal:

I cannot attest too much for this, so just remember what’s been mentioned. It’s very powerful, but also quite large, so lube will be needed. If sharing, or using as both a vaginal and anal toy, either clean VERY thoroughly or use a condom when inserting into the anus.

For the Penis:

The intensity of the Colt’s vibrations essentially makes it a ‘wand-lite’. At full intensity rubbing it along an erect penis creates a luxurious sensation. This sensation is enough to climax, but it won’t be a quick one and may be too abrasive. To solve this problem, along with the issue of cleanup, wear a sock over the penis when using the Colt as a wand.

Role Playing:

It’s not called “Colt the PROWLER” for nothing; this toy is very similar to a police baton. The similarities don’t end with the appearance (unless you choose red). There’s also the matter of heft. While not as large or heavy as an actual baton, it’s still heavy enough for role play or intimidation. It’s still a vibrating toy though, so don’t flog anyone as it may break. There’s always insertion, though. Just please be careful when role playing with something like this and take proper precautions.

The Prowler is plastic, meaning it’s non-porous and phthalate free. It is quite firm and is smooth and soft to the touch and it does not have an odor. Also, it lacks any texture, which on the one hand means that it won’t provide additional stimulation, on the other hand there’s no risk of a jagged nubbie during use. This type of toy is primarily for intermediate and advanced anal toy users.

One final note: the vibrations start to hurt the hand holding the toy after about ten minutes of use. Please consider this when using and act or plan accordingly.

Again, I need to mention that the toy is quite large, but also that it seems to be designed for couples. This speculation is based upon the dial mechanism that controls the intensity. It is nearly impossible to manipulate the dial, while holding the toy in and stroking the penis. This likely works fine for couples, but with individual anal play, it’s difficult to use.


Further, it has a handle rather than a base. This is also a complication for individual use as there’s the risk of the toy being sucked up by the colon. To avoid this, the toy must be continuously grasped, which for an individual can become tiresome quickly.

Whether or not this is a hideable toy is up for debate. On the one hand, as it looks like a baton, it could probably be explained as a prop, as long as it’s not on when found, or turned on. On the other hand, it’s very loud and looks like a sex toy with a handle. I’d say, treat it like the most conspicuous sex toy around, but if found, try to talk your way around the situation.

As for actual storage, it should fit in any lock box.

While the dial is difficult to use with solo use, it's useful when used on the penis or vagina. The speed can be moved to the most intense level quickly and, more importantly, it can be turned down after climax. The dial’s usefulness depends upon how the toy is being used.

This is not the type of toy to use if people can hear you in your room. It's very noisy and can be heard from another room, even if muffled. Either use it when the house is empty, tell people about it, or have a back massager for a cover. Finally, please be aware of its battery usage. It needs three AA batteries and drains them quicker than other toys I've used.

This is an easy to store, clean and use toy. As a plastic toy, it is compatible with oil, water and silicone lubricants. Plastic is an easy to clean material.

Since it's nonporous, it does not absorb dirt and other materials when used. There are many ways to clean it and all are quite easy. The easiest way is to use an antiseptic wipe, such as the Eden toy wipes, and rub it clean a few times. Another way to clean it is to wet a paper towel or cloth towel (since it may be used an anal toy, I recommend a disposable towel) with hot water and soap or toy cleaner and scrub. Once it's been scrubbed, wash the residue off and dry it with a different, dry paper towel.

This toy can be cleaned in less than a minute with a wipe and in a few minutes with soap/toy cleaner and water. I use Climax Bursts toy cleaner, but there are others available.
