Super Severin: Anal Superhero
The Severin by Tantus is a very satisfying high-quality toy suitable for beginner or medium-level anal play, or for warming up for bigger toys. It's easily cleanable and at 100% silicone can be sterilized too. Every toy box should have one!
Published:
Pros
easy to insert, easy to clean, can be sterilized, high quality
Cons
may be too small for advanced users
The Severin anal plug by Tantus is, well, tantalizing. I was originally drawn to it by its interesting name and was hooked in by its pleasing-looking shape. It comes in black, which is personally a turn on for me; black makes any sex toy look that much sexier. It definitely didn’t disappoint.
Graduated bulges make this toy both visually and sensually appealing. A small tip makes for easy insertion with each bulge giving a step up in size. The last bulge in the plug rests just behind the sphincter when inserted, which adds extra sensation and keeps the plug from sliding out.
Because of the soft silicone this plug is comfortable enough to wear for extended periods. I had no problem walking around with it in, even going up or down inclines; it didn't slip out, turn around, or cause discomfort. It also proved fine while sitting down; I was able to blog with it in. Frankly, I’m not entirely sure why I don’t have it in right now.
The handle-shaped base provides a snug and sexy fit between the cheeks, while also safely ensuring the plug doesn't slip too far inside or turn sideways. The Tantus logo is present on the side of the base, but it’s not even noticeable when the toy is in; since the letters are engraved instead of embossed they don’t stick out and agitate the skin. This flared base also makes the toy harness compatible.
Since this toy is made of the 100% high-quality silicone you can expect from Tantus, it's extra-safe - even for those allergic to latex. Wash it with soap and water or toy cleaner to clean; boil it or use a 10% bleach solution to sterilize. Don't use silicone lubes with it, though; I'd recommend a thick water-based lube made for anal play.
Finally, this toy can be used in conjunction with other toys or with a partner. Because of the bulges it stays put and doesn’t slide around, and in addition those same bulges feel great when moved in and out.
The only possible con I could see is that initially the neck of the toy seems wide and a bit uncomfortable, but once you relax it feels great and helps keep the toy in place.
As an extra note, this Severin (size small) might be too small for advanced anal players, but Tantus offers medium and large versions to accommodate that need.
If I could give this toy more than 5 stars, I would. It’s comfortable, functional, high quality, and really gets the job done.

Thank you for viewing Severin – butt plug review page!
The NJoy Pure Plug more so fits the bill to stay in place and to provide awesome ongoing stimulation..
Though it would fit a harness, I can't see the Severin being satisfactory for harness use.
I've found the Njoy plugs actually tend to twist around because of the sheer weight of the metal. They're also more expensive and less beginner-friendly, which is why I didn't compare the Severin to them. I pictured it as a product a beginner could pick up or a product that someone who likes anal play and wants a quality product but doesn't want to pay for one of the specialty glass/metal/etc ones.
And hey, you'd be surprised at what kind of things horny people can rig up, lol. I think if someone really liked the Severin and was too intimidated to try taking a full-sized dildo it could be used in a harness.
