The Rainbow Heart by SSA Glass is a beautiful glass dildo intended for vaginal use. It is completely free of motorized parts or batteries so it is completely waterproof. You can enjoy the Rainbow Heart in any shower or bath. This dildo is suitable for anal use since it does feature a large handle or base. However, this is a highly textured dildo so I wouldn't recommend this unless you are sure you can handle such texture anally. Aside from penetration, this dildo can be used to stimulate erogenous zones or the clitoris. The nubs on this dildo provide a great sensation when they are slowly rubbed over any and all of your erogenous zones.

This dildo also makes a great massage implement. When paired with a massage oil, the Rainbow Heart rolls over skin with very little resistance. You can vary the pressure you use when massaging your partner so the nubs do not cause any pain. The dildo was long enough that I did not have a problem with the handle getting in the way as long as I was not massaging too far into the middle of my partners back.

All glass dildos are wonderful for temperature play. Glass retains temperatures well and can easily be heated or cooled to provide unique sensations during use. I recommend heating a glass dildo with hot or cold water before use if you wish to engage in temperature play. While the dildo itself can withstand the extreme temperatures of boiling, freezing, or microwaving, your body can not. If engaging in temperature play, please remember to test the temperature of the dildo on your wrist or other sensitive skin before using. At room temperature, glass dildos will seem cold. If you do not want the initial shock of cold glass, be sure to warm your dildo up before use. Otherwise, it will warm up to body temperature during use.

And now some words of caution. Glass is a solid, rigid, unforgiving material. Thrusting too hard can result in internal bruising or tearing of sensitive skin. If you feel any pain while using a highly textured dildo, especially anally, make sure you stop use before you injure yourself (and don’t take my advice lightly...I’ll explain later). As always, check your glass dildos for chips and scratches before use. While they’re unlikely to break if properly stored and cared for, you still want to make sure they’re in perfect condition before you use them so you do not introduce any damaged glass to your vagina or anus.

The Rainbow Heart is made of Pyrex, or borosilicate, glass. Borosilicate glass is resistant to thermal shock so it can withstand extreme temperatures. If borosilicate glass were to break, which is unlikely, it would break into large chunks rather than shatter into tiny shards. Glass is complete body safe, being free of latex, allergens, and phthalates. It can be completely sterilized and is nonporous so it is safe to share between partners. Any and all lubricants are compatible with glass dildos. The glass itself is completely smooth with no drag to it at all. Glass dildos in general require very little lube because the material is so slick. Textured dildos, such as the Rainbow Heart, do require more lube than non-textured dildos.

The Rainbow Heart is a completely straight dildo with a large heart shaped handle on the end. It has raised nubs all along the shaft. There are roughly 90 nubs along the entire shaft. It is highly textured. The insertion end of the dildo is rounded, with no pointy edges or points. The dildo itself is clear glass. The nubs are grouped into 4 colors. There are 4 rows of red, 4 rows of blue, 4 rows of yellow and 4 rows of green nubs. The handle is a light, transparent pink. Aesthetically, this dildo is amazing. It’s gorgeous. I’m not so sure the design can be considered discreet, however. You may be able to pass this off as a body massager or a piece of art, but any sex toy savvy friend of yours will know what it is.







The entire Rainbow Heart dildo is 9.5 inches long. 6.25 inches of that length is insertable, the rest is the length of the handle. The handle is 3 inches wide. The dildo is 4 inches in circumference. These may not seem like large measurement but the firmness of glass can make the size seem exaggerated in use.

The Rainbow Heart dildo is completely straight so it does not provide G-spot stimulation. However, if you enjoy textured dildos, it is a fantastic choice. This feels great when it is rotated internally. The handle makes it really easy to rotate this dildo as it is slowly being thrust in and out. The nubs spin and hit every part of you internally.

As a body massager, this also felt lovely. It provided great sensations during a massage, especially when warmed and paired with a fantastic massage oil.

Cleaning glass dildos is super easy. Glass isn’t a high maintenance material. You can clean glass dildos with soap and water, your preferred toy cleaner, or a 10% bleach solution. You can sanitize glass dildos by boiling them.

To store your glass dildos, be sure to keep them in a safe place and wrapped in something that can provide padding. You can purchase padded bags, use the packaging a dildo came in, or use an old t-shirt or a pair of socks. Glass is best kept away from other heavy toys, like steel dildos, to minimize the risk of chipping

Like all SSA Glass dildos I have received, the Rainbow Heart was sent to me in a long red velvet drawstring bag. The bag is completely free of text or pictures. The bag itself is discreet. From the outside, you can not tell there is a glass dildo on the inside. As with all SSA Glass bags I have received, this bag is not padded and the drawstring is ineffective. I keep my dildos wrapped in bubble wrap inside of the bag and tie a knot in the drawstring to prevent the dildo from falling out. However, the handle on the Rainbow Heart is so wide that falling out is not a large concern. Ripping the velvet bag is more of a concern.

The first time I used this dildo, I didn’t take my own advice. I didn't use enough lube or take caution when I used this dildo. Oops. I did end up creating a few small tears during use. Luckily, it wasn’t serious and after a few days of healing, I was okay to resume play. Even a bad first experience couldn’t keep me away from this dildo though. I love using this one after I’ve warmed up with a non-textured dildo. I’m not texture sensitive at all so I have no problem using this dildo. If you are texture sensitive, I would definitely recommend staying away from this dildo. This dildo has also become one of my favorite things to use during a massage.

Overall, it’s not my absolute favorite glass dildo, but I do love it. I love how versatile glass dildos are in general and this one really didn’t disappoint. I would recommend it if you know you love texture. If you’re looking to experiment with texture, there may be better lightly-textured dildos for you to try first. If you end up getting this dildo to discover you hate texture, at least it makes a great massager.
