The Pure Wand by Njoy is a stainless steel sex toy that along with the Hitachi has been mentioned by many as a "must have" in ones toybox. It is dual ended featuring different sized heads on each end and with a nice curve to it that can be used for g-spot or p-spot stimulation and pleasure. I've heard it's especially effective for females like myself in search of their g-spot and that is the reason I purchased it.

It can be used during solo play or with a partner using it on you.

Since this is made from stainless steel, this works excellent for temperature play because steel retains tempatures effectively just as glass does. All you need to do is warm it up or cool it down depending on which temperature you are working with. You can keep a glass of warm or cool water or ice near you when you're playing to change the temperatures to suit your needs. I wouldn't recommend putting this in the freezer because steel tends to stick to wet surfaces and we don't want to have a "Christmas Story" repeat with your sensitive flesh stuck to the Pure Wand.

It is also considered to be waterproof so you can use this in any water situation that you wish such as the tub, shower, or pool.

The Pure Wand is made of 100% medical grade stainless steel and should last a lifetime. On Njoys website they say they use medical grade so you can play safely and "if it’s good enough for your grandmother’s hip replacement, it should be good enough for you-know-what(!)" This section made me laugh so I had to share it with everyone.

All laughing aside, stainless steel rates a ten on the Eden safety scale and is considered latex free, phthlates free, and non-porous. This means it can be safely shared between partners after thorough cleaning. According to their website, all Njoy toys are cast in 316 grade stainless steel, and hand-polished to a mirror shine. They mention the 316 material "provides superior corrosion resistance, a deliciously deep and lustrous finish, and added strength and toughness."

It is sleek looking and weighs 24 oz. Even though I knew it was going to be heavy, it was heavier than I was expecting. The weight may be too much for some, especially those with arthritis or have issues with their wrists.

There is absolutely no texture to this toy; it is completely smooth, hard, and offers no flexibility or give to it. It has no seams at all and is completely flawless and free from imperfections. It has Njoy stamped in the middle of the toy, but it can't be felt during use. It's best for those who prefer hard toys with no flexibility.

There's no smell or taste to this toy.

As I mentioned earlier, stainless steel is a great material for temperature play. Stainless steel has low specific heat meaning that although it is cold, it will warm rapidly to body temperature. This is my first stainless steel product and my first reaction to it was that it was colder than I had expected. I didn't take any time to warm it up or cool it down, and directly out of the package it was very cold. If you're interested in temperature play, I'd consider giving stainless steel or glass a chance.

The 24 oz Pure Wand looked very intimidating when I first received it. The larger end was much larger than I was expecting it to be. The larger end has a diamter of 1.5" and the smaller end has a diameter of 1". However, if you measure around them as I normally do the smaller end measures 3 1/2" around and the larger end measures a whopping 5" around. Geez, no wonder I thought that was too big. From point to point, the Pure Wand measures 8" across, but if you measure along the toy it measures 11" long. The curve gradually changes sizes along the Pure Wand. Directly underneath the smallest end, the curve measures 2 1/2" around, in the middle where Njoy is stamped is about 2" around, up from it is 2 1/2" around, and directly underneath the largest end is 3 1/2" around. I found a picture on Njoys website that shows what I am talking about.



I really like the design of the Pure Wand and how you have the ability to choose either end for your enjoyment depending on which end is comfortable for you and your body. Personally I don't see myself ever using the larger end unless I'm extremely aroused and fully lubricated. However, I know not all people enjoy smaller toys as much as I do so it is wonderful Njoy included both sizes for various users.

Out of all my toys, I actually consider the Pure Wand not to look like a conventional sex toy. It reminds me of a water faucet actually. You know the metal ones that hang down, that's what it reminds me of. Unfortunately, I don't have a faucet like that in my house so I couldn't take a picture or even compare to make sure, but for right now that's what I think about when I see it. If left out, I suppose you could pass it off as some type of heavy duty paper weight if company was over and they happened to catch a glimpse of it.

As for traveling with it, if you empty all the non-essentials out of your purse to make accomodate the extra weight of the Pure Wand then I could see traveling with it in your purse. I haven't been on any excusions lately so I don't know this from experience, but I know from testing it that it fit into my smaller purse easily. I am never in an instance where I'm on a plane or have to bypass airport security so I don't know how well stainless steel picks up in that setting.

As of this moment, the Pure Wand goes into my ever growing pile of toys that doesn't deliver for me. This is the longest amount of time I have ever taken to write an assignment because I kept wanting this particualr section to change. I wanted the Pure Wand to deliver results that so many others rave about, but that's just not the case for me. I know I am in the minority here, but that's okay I'm not knocking the toy or my efforts by any means. I plan to continue playing with this and hopefully one of these days I'll be able to write a follow-up with fantastic words of praise.

As far as my personal experience goes, I used this alone and would usually have to stop about fifteen minutes in because the weight of the Pure Wand would get to me. I'm used to lighweight toys so this is something I will have to get used to.

As with glass toys, I suggest being cautious and aware of your body (whether alone or with a partner) and make sure you are not too rough and cause potential bruising to your cervix.

According to Njoy's pamplet, the Pure Wand will never corrode or degrade in any way. For normal cleaning, soap and water are the best option followed by drying and polishing with a soft cloth. For thorough cleaning, you can sterilize it in boiling water or by using a 10% bleach solution and rinsing well.

Never use an abrasive cleaner or pad on the Pure Wand.

Stainless steel is compatible with all sensual lubricants so you can use your favorite lube of choice regardless of it is water, oil, silicone, or hybrid based lubricant.

This was packaged quite impressively. It came in a black box with a white slide off box cover on top. The black box is packaged quite nicely with hot pink material over cut out foam. The Pure Wand is nestled comfortably in the foam where it is properly formed to its shape. Both boxes had njoy on the tops, but other than that I would consider the box to be great for gifting since it is discreet.

It also came with a small booklet showcasing other Njoy toys and giving a little bit of information about each specific toy. They also have a care section in the booklet and give their website information where I found other great information about the company that I shared with you.

According to Njoys website, Njoy won "Outstanding Non-Powered Product" for the Pure Wand in AVN's First Annual "O" Awards in 2009.

I have read review after review after review where people raved about this product and finally everything aligned where I had the ability to order it. I initially was curious about the Pure Wand because several people have suggested that I try it as a tool on my vaginal orgasm quest. This is my first steel product and I wasn't sure how it was going to give me an orgasm because I'm used to things that go Vroom. However, after several unsuccessful attempts with toys that go Vroom, I've still been unable to orgasm so I thought what the heck, I'll give it a shot. I've had contributors offer me suggestions on how to use it before I even ordered it so I thought I've got this handled. Unfortunately that is just not the case for me. I've had this nearly a month now and have been playing and experimenting with it and I just have not had any success at all. I really wanted the Pure Wand to be the toy for me, but it's just not the perfect toy for me. If you happen to have the Pure Wand and have any suggestions for me I'll gladly take any advice.

Don't let my inability discourage you if you feel the Pure Wand is something that will work for your body because we all have different levels of experience with our bodies and different anatomies so just because it doesn't work for me doesn't mean that it won't work for you.

I consider the Pure Wand a great toy that's highly crafted that should last a long time if properly cared for that I honestly really like. I'm going to give it a 4 star rating because I can't fault the toy for being imperfect for me.
