I cannot express my happiness with this toy. Even with the retention of smells, I feel it was well worth the money I paid for it. Everything about this toy screams beginner; the size, shape, and texture. Ripple is not at all intimidating and the toy is incredibly easy and fun to use. I am so happy I went with this type of toy over traditional anal beads, as the constant graduation of the bubbles feels great but also allows one to stop and adjust to the size if needed.

Pros
Perfect toy for anal beginners, appeals to a wide range of people, fairly versatile toy
This anal probe is a perfect toy for anal virgins or almost (previously only finger play) anal virgins such as myself. Due to the Ripple's small size and slowly increasing pleasure bubbles, along with the flexibility and squishiness of the silicone, this is an excellent toy for a variety of people (beginners, intermediate players, individuals, and couples). The base of this toy is compatible with a harness but since the body of the probe is so flexible, it may not be suited for harness play. This toy can be used during sex but it does tend to slowly slip out, so someone may need to hold it in place.
This probe is made of silicone. As all Tantus silicone toys, it is phthalate-free, non-toxic, and hypoallergenic; the brand states that their silicone is odorless and can be boiled and/or bleached to clean.
I was shocked to see how flexible/pliable this toy was out of the box, so much so that it can be folded over on itself. Some people may have a problem with the flexibility of this toy upon initial insertion; this was not the case for me. To avoid insertion problems, I held the toy closer to the tip and worked my way closer to the base the further I inserted the toy. Ripple is very smooth, with a slight drag to it without lube but once you lube this sucker up, it slicks up nicely.
I am (mostly) an anal virgin, having only finger play before. This is the perfect toy for someone looking for a jumping off point in his or her anal adventures. I loved the texture of this toy in my ass; since it was so squishy it was very comfortable. I loved being able to squeeze down on it while it was inside of me. I was also able to thrust the toy in and out of myself. The base is larger, so one could also put a vibe or bullet on it and send vibrations into their ass.
The first bubble on this probe is a bit larger than my pinky (I have baby hands) at about 1/2 inch in diameter; the other three bubbles comfortably increase to about 1 inch in diameter. The stem between the last bubble and the base is about an inch in length, the insetable length of the toy is about 4 1/2 inches.
This toy is obviously safe for anal play, but since the silicone can be sanitized it can also be used vaginally. Please make sure that if you are going to use this toy vaginally that you clean it first and never put this toy (or anything for that matter) into your vagina directly out of your ass; either clean it or use a condom.
I used this toy while in the shower. The base creates a nice suction if you wanted to lower yourself down onto the toy. I was able to slide the first three bubbles into my ass easily; the last two required a few seconds to make sure I was relaxed and a bit more pressure to get them in. I was able to bypass the flexibility of the toy by holding it closer to the first bubble and working my way back closer to the base as I was able to take more. Once inserted, I was able to thrust and jiggle the toy while it was in my ass, which felt awesome. The base was comfortable while I was sitting on it and walking from my shower to my bed.
My one beef with this toy's material is that it retains smells. After my first session with Ripple, it had a distinct "ass" smell. I washed it with two different soaps but neither got rid of the smell. I soaked it in a water and bleach solution and let it air out for a few days and the smell has dissipated. This toy does attract lint like no other, so I store it in a ziploc bag when it isn't in use. It is for this reason that I'd suggest that the toy be rinsed before use and washed with soap and water after use.
Ripple comes in the normal Tantus red and white plastic packaging. The box is non-discreet and somewhat flimsy. The toy itself was nestled in a clamshell inside of the box. I would not recommend using the box as long-term storage, as it rips easily and takes up a lot of room.
The first time Ripple was in my ass was while I was in the shower. I was able to use just the water as lube enough to get it into my ass up to the last bubble, then I just needed to relax a bit and use a bit more pressure to pop it in there. This toy made me wet instantly, but I wasn't feeling the playtime in the shower so I was able to walk to my bed with Ripple in my ass; I just had to keep it in place with my fingers. I tried a few things while I was playing with myself; I was able to pull the toy out and thrust a bit, but what I really enjoyed was just pushing the base a little bit with my fingers to create a pulsating feeling. What sent me over the top was closing my legs and tightening my muscles around the toy - I'm thankful the soft silicone allowed me to do this because it was fantastic. I plan on writing a follow-up review when my boyfriend and I get a chance to try Ripple out a few times together, but I know I'm already in love - I knew after that first use that I was going to be an anal lover.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it3 months after original review
We still use this as a great warm up toy for the Neo and I also enjoy this for solo play. It's great during vaginal sex but it has shot out of me while orgasming. I'd still recommend it to anyone.
