The Nexus Ridge Rider, as indicated by the packaging, is a G-spot Massager. The instructions enclosed with the toy further clarify that it is a Male G-spot massager, the male G-spot being the prostate gland (a.k.a. the P-spot). While the instructions included with the toy are geared towards male anal use, there is no reason why this toy couldn't be just as pleasurable for a woman to use vaginally or anally.
When used as a p-spot massager, the toy is inserted anally. The toy is intended to stimulate the prostate (accessible 2-3 inches inside the rectum) either through the user's pelvic movements and/or the toy's internal vibrator.

The Ridge Rider is made from 100% silicone which is at the top end of the material safety scale. It is fairly firm and smooth with more of a matte finish on it. Although the material feels quite firm when you squeeze it, the toy is still rather flexible, you can easily bend the portion of the shaft extending beyond the vibration unit as well as the ends of the base. The lower portion of the shaft feels a bit more firm and is not as flexible due to the vibration unit which is made from a rigid plastic. If you remove the vibration unit from the toy, this portion of the toy becomes very soft and pliable.
The ridges and nubs behave in much the same manner as the rest of the toy. They feel somewhat firm when you squeeze them, but when you push on them from the side, they have a little more give to them.

The Nexus Ridge Rider is currently available in two colors; purple and black.



The bulb at the tip of the toy is smooth and rounded. It has an oblong shape and is the actually one of the fatter parts of the toy, measuring about 1-3/8" x 1".
The shaft of the toy varies in diameter along its length. Just below the bulb, it's 7/8". Towards the middle, it increases to an oblong shape roughly, 1-3/16" x 1". At the base, it's an oblong shape measuring roughly 3/4" x 15/16". These measurements do not include the toy's signature feature, the ridges. There are a total of 8 ridges, starting just below the bulb and are spaced about 3/8" apart. Each ridge is about 1/16" tall.
The base of the toy appears to be very similar in size and shape to the Nexus G-Rider. The perineum stimulator (or clitoral stimulator if used vaginally) has little flexible nubs molded into it for extra stimulation. The shape of the base is comfortable and sufficiently large to prevent any chance of the toy slipping into the rectum.



The vibration controls are located on the back of the base. The single button turns the toy on and is also used to cycle through the five available vibration patterns. The button also turns the vibrator off when held down for 5 seconds. The battery compartment is located next to the control button and is easy to open. The vibrator is powered by a single AAA battery (included). The vibrator is not waterproof; therefore this toy is not suitable for use in the tub or shower.

The vibration settings are as follows:

1.) 5 seconds of slowly increasing and decreasing vibration intensity followed by 4 seconds of quickly increasing and decreasing vibration intensity.


2.) 4 seconds of steady vibration followed by a 2 second pause.


3.) Steady constant vibration


4.) 0.5 second pulse followed by a 0.5 second pause.


5.) 3 quick buzzes over about 1.5 seconds followed by a 0.5 second pause.

The Ridge Rider performs well. The rigdes on the shaft provided good stimulation of prostate and the variety of vibration functions was nice to have. It would have been nice to be able to adjust the intensity of the vibrations along with the pattern, but that's only a minor complaint.
My largest complaint is the control button. It's somewhat small, only about a 1/4" in diameter. It does have a raised bulge to it so you can find it without looking, but it can be difficult to press, particularly when you are trying to hold it down for 5 seconds to shut it off.

Being made of 100% silicone, the Ridge Rider is very easy to care for. You can use toy cleaner, 10% bleach solution, mild soap and water to clean it or boil it to sanitize it. It is top rack dishwasher safe (no detergent and remove the vibrator).


The vibrator unit is removable; however it is a tight fit, so it does require some effort. I found that folding over the ends of the base and pushing on the end of the bulb would push it out enough for me to get my fingers on it to pull it out the rest of the way. The vibrator is not splash-proof, so you'll need to remove it before you start rinsing the toy off. And if you need to clean the vibrator, rubbing alcohol should do the trick.

After air drying, I keep it sealed in a zip top plastic bag to keep it from accumulating lint and hair. Like most silicone toys, the Ridge Rider is a lint magnet, so I also wash it off prior to use, just to make sure.

           

The box is rather simple. It's standard paperboard without flashy graphics or pictures of models, just a plain box with nice large windows on the front and sides to allow you to look at the toy. The text on the outside of the box let's you know the toy's basic features and functions. You could reuse the package to store the toy, but I found it to be a bit bulky.
Inside the package, along with the toy, you will find one AAA battery and an instruction sheet. I found the instruction sheet to be very well thought out. In addition the usual information you would expect to find (care instructions, warnings and disclaimers), there are detailed instructions on how to use the toy.

So far I have enjoyed the Ridge Rider. This is the first prostate massager that I have tried. The instructions that come with the toy are outstanding. I went through them step by step and found them to be very helpful in learning how to get the most out of this toy. I would recommend that anyone using the toy try it out without the vibration turned on at first. The prostate is typically accessible through the rectum about 2-3" inside. This puts the upper half of the section of the shaft with the ridges in contact with the prostate. Once I learned how to move my pelvis in the proper manner, the ridges provided a very pleasurable sensation on my prostate. Turn on the vibrator at that point, and you're in for a good time. Of the five vibrations settings, I found the first one to work the best for me.


I have the Nexus G-Rider on my wish list as well. Comparing the two using the 1:1 view, the Ridge Rider appears to be a little bit longer, but not quite as fat through the middle. What it may lack in girth in the middle, it makes up for with texture provided by the ridges.
