Pro-Pal

Doc Johnson's Pro-pal is a manual plastic prostate massager that provides internal stimulation while also externally stimulating the perineum. This toy is desgined for men and can be used solo or for couples' play. It can be used by women, but it did nothing for me personally. I felt that it was slightly too large for me to use anally. However, some women may enjoy the bulged design.

Pro-pal is made of smooth plastic which rates an 8 on Eden's safety scale. It is hypo-allergenic and free of latex and phthalates. Pro-pal has a velvety finish, although it has a little bit of drag, but lube makes it very smooth and slippery. It is also very hard and rigid, with no give whatsoever, which makes it feel even larger. The Pro-pal has smooth edges, apart from the faint lines around the edge of the toy from its manufacturing. This is not a realistic toy at all. We have the black version of the toy, which is velvety and smooth. According to other reviews, the white version is shiny and not as matte or velvety as the black. It probably does not have as much drag either.
ABS plastic is compatible with water, oil, and silicone based lubricants. Although plastic is not very porous, it can still house bacteria. Pro-pal should not be used anally then vaginally or shared between partners without a condom.
This toy is more suited for intermediate or advanced users due to its large size.

Pro-pal is 5 3/4" long with 3 1/2" being insertable. Its circumference is 4 3/4" with a diameter of 1 1/2". The neck's diameter is 1 3/8" and the entire toy weighs in at about 0.5 lbs. The handle makes is easy to maneuver, although the toy is not hands-free.
Pro-pal is not discreet at all, it is large and cumbersome to hide. It is rigid and hard to break, so tucking it in between clothing in a suitcase would work for traveling.

Pro-pal provides the user with two different experiences depending on which end of the toy is used. The shorter end has 2 1/2 inches of curved length with a circumference of 4 1/4. It is like a short wide plug, but this will not reach the prostate of most users. The opposite side is more blunt with a length of 4 inches. This side is more likely to actually reach the prostate, while the bulbous end stimulates the perineum. The longer end has multiple bulges for added stimulation. The first bulge is around 3 inches, the next one is just over 5 inches, and the final bulge is 4 inches before the handle. A beginner or intermediate user may have trouble fully inserting the toy, the 5 inch bulge can be quite a challenge.
The handle is comfortable and makes maneuvering easy. When using it solo certain positions are easier than others, kneeling and being bent over were the easiest. Pro-pal is easiest to maneuver when used during partner play. My boyfriend had the most success when he was relaxing and focusing on the sensations, while I steered. We found that a steady rocking motion felt the best.

ABS plastic is compatible with silicone, water, and oil based lubricants. It is mostly nonporous, but can still harbor bacteria near the surface. Therefore, it cannot be truly sanitized. The safest way to share Pro-pal is with a condom. Pro-pal can be cleaned with toy cleaner or soap and warm water. It can be cleaned with a 10% bleach solution occasionally. Do not leave it submerged in bleach solution or other harsh cleaners, as they can degrade the surface. We store our Pro-pal away from other toys in its own pouch. This prevents the surface from getting scratched.

Pro-pal arrived packaged in a simple clear plastic box. The packaging shows the toy and explicitly says prostate stimulator all over the package, so this is not discreet at all. It can be used for storage, but the box takes up so much space that I keep mine in a pouch.
