Doc Johnson's Sasha Grey Signature Swell Wand is a beautiful, black glass dildo that has two rounded ends and two swells, or waves, along the shaft. While not curved, it excels at G-spotting, or for general vaginal play or kegel exercising. The Swell Wand is not really recommended for anal use because it doesn't have a clearly defined flared base; though those very experienced, or with a partner with a firm grip, might make use of this anally. As with other glass dildos, care should be taken while thrusting to prevent bruising the cervix.

The Swell Wand is made from Pyrex glass, which rates a 10 on Eden's material safety scale. It is nonporous, hypoallergenic, latex and phthalates free, which makes this toy safe to share with partners. However, glass is very firm and hard, so care should be taken while thrusting to prevent injuries. Also, one should always inspect glass pieces for cracks, chips and scratches before each use. There is no smell or taste to the Swell Wand as well.

The dildo isn't very realistic looking; it actually looks to me like a tiny, ornate chair leg. There is no real texture to the toy, but it does have two rounded ends and two swells, or bulges, along the shaft. The wand is very smooth and the swells aren't that intimidating for those who don't really care for textured toys, such as myself.

As I said above, the Swell Wand looks to me like a small, curvy chair leg. Or even a curvy female shape without arms and legs. Though this toy isn't curved or bent, I found it works well for G-spotting. It has a nice bit of weight to it (a little over 3/4's of a pound), but I also found that that didn't impede thrusting or cause sore wrists. Because of its shape, the Swell Wand is discreet and doesn't really look like a sex toy. The wand can also be traveled with if protected adequately.

As mentioned above, these is no curve or bend to the Swell Wand, but it performed well as a G-spot dildo by tilting the portion of the toy left outside my body in a downward direction. Thrusting straight with the toy also provided G-spot contact from the rounded head and swell or bulge. Glass also retains temperatures well, and running this under cold water before playing provided a nice, chilly sensation.

Caring for the Swell Wand is beyond easy. Glass can be cleaned with soap and water, toy cleaner or wipes, a bleach solution, or by boiling briefly. You can also place the dildo on the top rack in a dishwasher with either no detergent or one made specifically for glass. Any type of lubricant is also safe to use with the toy.

The dildo can be stored in the package it came in or in a padded pouch or bag.

The Sasha Grey Signature Swell Wand comes in a black box: the front shows an image of the toy along with Sasha Grey, Doc Johnson, and the toy's names; the back has a brief paragraph about the toy and glass benefits; the sides of the box have photos of Sasha Grey. Inside, the Swell Wand itself sits inside a thick, dark grey bundle of foam with a thin layer for a lid.

While not discreet, the packaging would be good for storage or gift giving.

Before I received the Swell Wand, I was unsure whether or not I would really like it. While it did have one of my requirements for a G-spot toy (round heads), I didn't think the straight wand would do much. Boy was I wrong!

My G-spot prefers thrusting over pressure, so tilting the toy and bumping one of the rounded heads into it was pleasurable. But I really enjoyed straight thrusting with this; while holding the smaller end, the larger round head and swell rubbed deliciously against my G-spot. Sitting straight up and grinding or bearing down on the toy was also a lot of fun when I wanted pressure over thrusting.

Though I could probably take the smaller end, I haven't used this toy anally. I'm not that experienced with anal play right now, so for my own safety, I stayed away from that area. However, this wand also makes an excellent kegel exerciser as well.

Overall, I think this is a great toy that has more uses than I had initially thought and I'm glad that I finally got it.
