The Gold Laced G is a wonderful basic glass piece for both beginners and advanced users alike. Because of its flared base, this toy can be used both vaginally and anally. It's slimmer size also makes it easier on those who choose to use it anally. (I'm a newbie to anal play, having only just bought and used my first butt plug a week ago, so I can't say if that use is very pleasurable, but that's why this site is so great! My favorite way to use my Gold Laced G is to insert it all the way so that the base is flush with my labia, then, CAREFULLY, grind against a pillow. I don't grind hard enough to bruise myself, but the toy is just the right length and curve to perfectly massage my inner wall without hitting my cervix. This probably isn't the most orthodox method, but it's what works for me! Be very careful with this toy, because if you aren't, you could end up hurting yourself.

The Gold Laced G, by SSA Glass, is made of borosilicate glass. It rates a 10 on the Eden Safety Scale, and is non-porous, phthalates and latex-free, making it completely body-safe. This type of glass won't shatter or splinter when dropped, but instead snaps in half or into large chunks, furthering the safety of this product.

Glass is wonderful for temperature play, as it holds both high and low temperatures extremely well. The Gold Laced G, as its name suggests, has a sort of lattice texture to it. For someone who has never dealt with texture, especially on a glass toy before, the lattice work may be surprisingly stimulating. Once you get used to it, the texture is pretty great. A word of caution for those new to texture, insert this toy slowly on the first go, so you don't get overwhelmed, as I did.

The design of the Gold Laced G is subtle, yet effective. Resembling a penis, because of the shape of the head and presence of the scrotum-like base, it's not the most discreet toy you'll ever own. Anyone looking at it will know it's a sex toy.





This toy has a great deal of texture. From slightly below the tip to the base are gold ridges criss-crossing the entire toy. The texture definitely adds to the pleasure factor if you're into that. If not, then this toy might not be the way to go. The Gold Laced G is on the slimmer side of the girth scale, so size queens won't like it either. I'm a total girth wimp, so it works in my favor. This functional piece of glass has a very slight curve meant to hit the G-spot. I initially didn't think the curve would be drastic enough to do anything, but it's funny how expectations are often wrong. The curve along with the ridges wrapping the head stimulate the G-spot almost perfectly, or at least it did mine!



Lastly, traveling with your Gold Laced G may be more difficult than toys not made of glass, as the chance for it to break will always be present. The pouch provided won't provide enough support to keep your toy safe, so if you decide to go on a trip and pack the Gold Laced G, wrap it tighter than you'd wrap a baby. Personally, I hate the way the toy looks. It's just really ugly to me, but I generally prefer my toys being less phallic and more abstract, and gold is my least favorite color for sex toys.

The best thing about this toy is its girth to texture ratio. If it were any thicker, the texture would be overwhelming for me. If the texture was any milder, the girth would be underwhelming. SSA Glass struck the perfect balance of the two. The firmness glass provides also ups the fun factor.

Cleaning glass is much easier than 90% of other sex toy materials. You can boil it, put it in the dishwasher, soap and hot water, antibacterial wipes, toy cleaner, 10% bleach solution, and probably more ways than that. Clean freaks rejoice, because you will always be able to guarantee your toys cleanliness. For the more lazy cleaners, one of which I must confess to being- if you want to just use Eden wipes on the Gold Lace G, you'll have to be a bit more meticulous than with your toys with less texture. Fluids and general gross stuff can hide in the ridges and crevasses if you aren't careful. Instead of fooling around with the wipes, I normally use on toys, my Gold Laced G gets special treatment with a trip to the sink. Because it's glass, you can use absolutely any type of lube on this toy.

The packaging for this toy is woefully dismal. The Gold Laced G comes wrapped in bubble wrap and placed inside SSA Glass's signature red velvet drawstring pouch with no box. The pouch feels cheap and the drawstring does not keep the bag closed unless you knot it. The red velvet reminds me of tacky 70s' car upholstery to be honest. The pouch would not be suitable for gift giving, and storage is iffy to me, as it is NOT lined. Overall, this product looses half a star for how awful the packaging is.

The way a toy looks has a strange way of directly affecting how much I enjoy using it. Because I just can't love the way the Gold Laced G looks, I'm less inclined to bring it out. The toy by itself deserves 5 stars, but because the aesthetics takes away from it for me, I must subtract points. Keep this in mind when looking at the score please!

This was the first toy I had ever used that had any substantial texture to it, and as such caught me completely off-guard. In fact, the first time I used it, the lattice work irritated my entrance and I had to put the toy aside for a few weeks. When I pulled it out again, I was more careful, and I have to say, I think this toy was the first I was able to use to find my G-spot! If that doesn't sell it for you, I don't know what will!
