Isn't that beautiful? It's much more than just a pretty piece of glass. Both males and females can use this, during intercourse or solo play. The Moon Shine is great for the intermediate and advanced, or beginners that are patient and willing to take it slow if they can't fit it in the first few times. Patience is key; you really don't want to injure yourself.

It is meant for stuffing, not thrusting. Due to the short statue of this toy, it doesn't make the greatest for vaginal play, but those who like shorter glass dildos might enjoy this since the flared base does give you good control. This also is great for a first glass toy. The nonporous Pyrex glass is great for safety and easy to clean. Those looking to experiment with temperature play will love how well glass works for this. The flared base will ease your mind since you won't have to worry about it being sucked in or hard to control when inserting. It stays in during orgasm, which is nice since I've heard stories about other plugs shooting out. Since this is my first anal toy, I thankfully don't have any experiences with that happening, and hopefully never will.

To those at least somewhat knowledgeable in the area of sex toys, this will not look discreet. People that do not fall into that category will most likely not know what it is unless you tell them, so I guess how discreet it is varies on the individual. The red velvety pouch it comes with is the perfect size for storing it when not in use.

Remember, if you feel pain, STOP. Even if you're into pain play, this is something you don't want to push as you can easily bruise or injure yourself.

This was my first glass toy and definitely not my last. Pyrex glass is rated a 10 on the Eden Fantasys material safety index. It is a food-grade material, latex free, non-porous, phthalates free, and hypo-allergenic. It can be sterilized a few different ways, from boiling it to using the dishwasher (additional information in the care section). Glass does not absorb lubricant like other materials, so a little goes a long way. This being said, remember it's better safe than sorry when participating in anal play, especially for beginners. Make sure you lube it up well before use to ensure maximum pleasure.

The Pyrex glass has no scent or taste. It has a smooth, hard surface and does not drag in use. There is no additional texture. Personally, I'm okay with this, especially for my first glass toy and first plug. Those who crave texture might want to consider a different toy. For those of you who have never used a glass toy before, just be aware that the dense glass makes the toy heavier. The heavy feel of the hard glass is great for that lovely full feeling that many people look for in a plug. The Moon shine is very rigid and doesn't have any give like jelly toys, so this doesn't make it a good candidate for all day wear. Temperature play is one of the best aspects of glass that make it stand out from other materials. Serve it up warm or cold; it feels great to rub against the genitals and other body parts before inserting it for some great fun.

Feast your eyes on the delicious shape of the Moon shine! The large flared base meets the clear stem, leading up to the bulbous and colorful spade shape at the other end. At not much over 3", the Moon shine is a relatively short plug. It has about 3 1/4" of insertable length. Don't let this fool you. This plug will give you that full feeling with the stem being approximately 3 1/4" around and a girth of 5" at the thicket part of the spade. The flared base is a great size at 1 3/4" in diameter to ensure the toy stays put, but not too large that it gets in the way or looks strange when inserted. The size of the flared base also allows for better control when inserting.


There is no additional texture to the Moon shine. This plug doesn't scream phallic, but depending on how sex toy savvy the person who finds it is, you might be able to convince them it's a glass decoration or something. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure what the best way to travel with this is due to the TSA's ever changing rules and regulations. Maybe checked luggage to be on the safe side so it isn't considered a weapon and taken away.

Craftsmanship of this toy is great. The deep red and golden yellow swirls are a simple thing of beauty. There are no seams and practically no imperfections (there were only 2 or 3 microscopic bubbles on the inside but nothing that affects the performance) and pyrex glass is very durable and shatter resistant. This doesn't mean that it won't break, but should it drop with force, it won't chip into small pieces, but will break into larger ones. This is important for toys and plugs like this one because a small chip that might go unnoticed can cause harm to the one using the toy. Be careful where you use it and wash it in case it is slippery and is dropped. Nevertheless, this toy seems very durable which is great since I'm a klutz cargo.

I love how beautiful and almost innocent the Moon shine looks and how heavy and filling it feels when inserted. The flared base really helped me to hold and control the plug better, especially when my hand is a little slippery from lube. This helped me to relax my muscles more because I didn't have to worry so much about dropping the plug or hurting myself from it moving at a weird angle while inserting it.

Since glass has no give, I was a little concerned about how rigid it would feel, but it felt so comfortable! I could walk around and had no problems or feelings of pain or discomfort after wearing it for a little while longer after a session. This isn't great for long term wear, though, as sitting or standing/walking for longer amounts of time makes the muscles tired and can become uncomfortable. The Moon shine worked great for me and definitely gives that nice full feeling without being uncomfortable or unbearable. It felt nice to run it under some hot water when washing it so it feels nice and warm when I am ready to use it. Since it is my first glass toy and my first plug, there is nothing for me to compare it to (yet).

Another plus about glass is that it is so easy to clean! You can boil it, put it in the top shelf of the dishwasher (don't use detergent if you do, it will damage the material), use toy cleaner, a 10% bleach solution, or just good old fashion hot water and soap. After, just dry it off and store it back in the pouch. If you're a little paranoid like me, you can save the bubble wrap that comes with it and wrap it in that before storing it. Since it is not made of silicone, it should be fine to store with other toys, especially when in the storage pouch. There are no small spaces or crevices that would make this difficult to clean. The Moon shine doesn't attract lint or hair. Since it is nonporous, you can even use any kind of lubricant you want with this plug!

The Moon shine comes wrapped in bubble wrap inside of a small velvety red pouch. There are no instructions or anything else included. I feel like a small paper with a description of the best ways to use this for temperature play or some safety information would have been good, although it isn't really necessary. The small velvety bag is simple, discreet, and just the right size for this plug. It works great for storage and is nice enough to give as a gift to someone.

I loved this! I was worried it would be too large, but I managed to get it in on the first try without pushing myself too hard. If you have never done anal play before, you might want to hold off and get something smaller to see if you like the sensation before you go for something on the larger side.

Since I rarely participate in anal play, I was a little worried that this plug would be too large. Over time, I figured I could work myself up to the size. I had compared it to the Sexy Spades Small and noticed it wasn't much smaller than the Moon shine, so I figured I'd go with the slightly larger one so I don't feel like I outgrew the Sexy Spades small.

When I tried the Moon shine for the first time, it took a little while, but much to my surprise it went in without having to push myself much on the first try (by push myself, I mean in terms of the unusual feel, not pain; remember to stop if you feel pain!). Should I be proud? Sure, because the Moon shine is an AMAZING fit!

In the end, I'm glad I took a little risk and went with the slightly larger Moon shine because it's such a great fit for me and feels great to use during intercourse or just a solo session by myself. In the future I hope to try more temperature play with it, especially more with colder sensations. It is definitely my new favorite in my slowly growing toy collection.
