Is that art..? No, it's a buttplug.
The Violet ripple is a good addition to a toy collection. Because of its Pyrex makeup, you can spice things up with temperature play and throw it in the dishwasher to clean it. It's absolutely gorgeous to look at, so if you're warped, you could give it as a gift and get a perverse chuckle every time you visit and see it sitting on their mantle ;)

Pros
Durable, easy to clean, innocent appearance if left out
Cons
inflexibility can be uncomfortable, too big for a beginner to learn with
First and foremost, the Violet ripple is a gorgeous thing to behold. My title was only slightly in jest because if it was forgotten out, its sleek styling and graceful lines lend themselves toward an object of art. It's made of Pyrex which is a fabulous material to work and play with. It holds temperature well so you can heat it in warm water or chill it in ice water if you want to add a little treat to your play. Pyrex is also easy to clean. You can either use warm soapy water or sex toy cleaner. One of the biggest perks about Pyrex, however, is that because it's nonporous and difficult to break down, you can use a variety of lubricants with it: water, oil, and silicone.. and let's be honest, who wants to leave a *ahem* private moment on a scavenger hunt to find the right lube? A word of precaution to you is to check your Pyrex toy for chips or sharp edges each time before play. Pyrex is resilient and durable, but if dropped it could chip or break.
The Violet ripple arrived with a beautiful purple and pink (squee!) satin draw-string bag. It is extremely spacious; in fact, i store another of my silicone plugs in there with it because there's so much extra room. If you do tag-team the storage, make sure it's not another glass toy because jostling could lead to chipping.
Now, in complete honesty, I'm relatively new to anal play, so when I got this assignment I was really excited to learn more but I was apprehensive that my inexperience might hinder me from writing a comprehensive review.. but then i thought, "Other people are going to be new to this. We weren't born anal goddesses. I'll write it from a novice's point of view so others can know"
I've played with dildos and have had a plug this size in me before, but i needed assistance getting it in. This plug was no exception. I tried playing on my own, initially, and was able to insert most of it (i used KY jelly for lube) but the bulb was just a little too wide for my beginner bottom. If you're just starting out, I would definitely recommend starting with a smaller plug. This plug is brilliant but it isn't for novices. On my second attempt, I had a kinky revelation: play with my smaller silicone plug first and then try the Violet ripple. I inserted my smaller plug and waited until my body accepted it and I stopped being aware of it inside me. I knew my body was relaxed and ready to try the bigger plug because during masturbation, my smaller plug kept slipping out. I attempted inserting the Violet ripple and I encountered the same thing as my first attempt; however, after trying different positions and slowly turning it while applying pressure, I got it in. It was definitely a stretch but once it was in, I was freaking amazed! In all honesty, it was way more comfortable than my silicone plug of approximately the same size. it has a longer tapered neck than my silicone plug so it had more leeway to move and situate itself inside me where it fit the most comfortably unlike my other plug which has a smaller tapered portion and it's limited in where it can be situated once inserted. The Violet ripple stayed inside me comfortably and easily as i played and tried different positions. I never once had to worry about it slipping out. I paid special attention to whether I could feel the rigidity of it inside me as I moved, but I honestly couldn't. I happen to be a voluptuous woman, so I have junk in the trunk so the only time i noticed anything semi uncomfortable (other than the stretch with the initial insertion) was when I was changing positions to sit up and as I rolled sideways on my tush, I felt the flare press into my cheek.
On the rigidity note, for people who enjoy soft toys with movement, you might want to think about whether a rigid toy like this would work for you. If you like a lot of give in your toys, I might recommend a silicone plug but if you enjoy hard things (hehe) you might very well love this plug.
So, I think if you play and warm yourself up with smaller plugs and dildos before you attempt to play with the Violet ripple you'll probably be fine but starting off with this plug might lead to more frustration than pleasure and it would be unfortunate if you had an unpleasant initial experience. Be patient and work your way up to this beauty.. it's worth it!
