The L'Amour Intermediate Probe is a nice toy, but it needs improvements to earn a place higher in my toy box. The probe and suction cup are easy to use. It feels gentle and absolutely wonderful, but the base is not acceptable for my own personal taste in play. Disappointing in the end since I thought it would leave me with a better experience.

Pros
Very comfortable and pretty
Cons
Base is too flimsy to be used as a flared base and suction cup limits variety in use
L'Amour intermediate probe is soft, velvety and absolutely beautifully made. It is a butt plug with the base acting as a suction cup. I was really excited to get this one as an assignment because it is just intriguing to look at and I really thought it would feel great. The design is cool and actually does feel really nice with its smaller end for gentle insertion to the full size. However, the flared base is entirely too flimsy to truly protect the toy from becoming lost. That combined with little to no shaft takes away any safety there was to be had. I was extremely uncomfortable using the L'Amour probe without the suction cup. The suction cup is very secure but then you are forced to stay in one place.
The size makes this one conform to its name of being an intermediate probe; it's not necessarily for beginners but not quite large enough for the experienced.
The L'Amour intermediate probe is made in layers. The inner core of the probe is made from TPE, and the outer layer is made from silicone which makes it non-porous as well as being phthalates free, hypo-allergenic and latex free. The material is soft to the touch and with lube glides smoothly on skin. The probe does come with a light scent that has yet to vanish.
The design of the L'Amour probe is absolutely gorgeous but not very workable for my body. The specs both on the site and labeled on the packaging are a bit off. The L'Amour probe measures in at a height of around 4 1/2" and the max diameter is right around 1 1/2". The tip is smaller in diameter for easy insertion measuring about a 1/2" before curving slightly and then it increases to the larger diameter. The probe flares into its base having almost no shaft between the full diameter and the base.
The L'Amour probes base has a dual purpose. It is designed to be a flared base and to act as a suction cup. The base is soft, flimsy and easily collapses onto itself. It is not safe to be used as a flared base. As a suction cup, there is a great deal of suction behind it and makes for interesting play times and places (as it has to be on a flat hard surface to gain suction). However, it requires you remain in that spot which severely limits the flexibility in use with this toy.
There is a seam which is broken up by the swirl pattern on the probe, but it can not be felt during use.
Overall the probe is small, semi-discreet and could easily be thrown in a toy bag, purse or overnight bag and taken along for travel.
There are no bells, whistles or vibrations with the L'Amour Probe, but there is elegance. Once safety is figured into the equation, the probe is pliable and easy to use. It really is a gentle and comfortable probe but again you are limited in use because of the design of the base. The L'Amour probe feels good but does contain a fear factor so I'm not entirely happy with the product.
Since the outer layer of the L'Amour Probe is made from silicone, this probe can be easily cleaned with antibacterial soap and water, toy cleaners or 10% bleach mixture. Also it can be completely sanitized by boiling it for 3 minutes.
Any water based lubes would be safe to use with the L'Amour probe.
Since I don't expect much use with this toy, I've simply kept the original packaging to store the probe in.
The packaging for the L'Amour Probe is a simple clear plastic box with pretty swirls and the name L'Amour written on the front. On the back of the packaging they have a picture of the product and added the specs, care instructions and warnings. Not discreet in the least since you can see the product, however there are no girls or anything of that nature. Not overly glamorous but easily handled and reusable for storage purposes.
Not one I'll continue to use since it is limited to where I can play and what I can do while stuck to a hard surface. This one just isn't my idea of enjoyment.
Someone questioned if the curve would be effective for g-spot stimulation. The probe was ineffective, not reaching the g-spot well and didn't really have anything else to offer vaginally.
Never experiencing other flared based butt plugs before, I thought the soft, flexible base might be a problem but continued to try the toy regardless. It was very comfortable to insert and felt great once in place, but the realization that the base was collapsing put me into full terror.
Once the suction cup was engaged and I could start again, I realized it wasn't going to be anywhere near as fun stuck in one spot in a room I don't normally play in. So it makes for an interesting time but not interesting enough to continue with.
After using the L'Amour probe, I didn't have that elated feeling of being filled and enjoyed. Maybe it wasn't a good size for me, or possibly just that the majority of the inserted portion of the toy is not the full 1 1/2" size or even that after several uses it still brought back that moment of fear; regardless, it just didn't leave me satisfied with the experience.
Follow-up commentaryI still don't like it2 months after original review
I really tried to like this one because it is so beautiful but honestly it's no good to me with the soft flexible base. It simply leaves me feeling uncomfortable. The suction cup bottom is the only way to use the probe safely. Mine sits in it's box unused because I have no desire to have my rear suction cupped to the floor. A shame for such a elegant probe.
