The Tantus Severin medium is fun plug that can give you a nice full feeling. It has enough length to reach the prostate and give good stimulation. This toy is silicone and therefore needs PLENTY of water based lube for insertion. I would not recommend this to the anal novice, as I consider it a more advanced toy. When using the Severin, I like a little warm-up first. It is not a toy that I can just take right away. I find the Anal-Flex Probe to be a good warm up toy. Once I'm relaxed, the toy can be slowly inserted. The rippled bulbs give you a resting point to prepare for the larger portions of the toy. Once fully inserted, I find it usually stays in place during intercourse. Only on rare occasion has it come out before it should. It is also great for use during oral sex or a hand job; it provides very intense orgasms.

The Severin is made of silicone and did have a strong odor when we first got it. After a week or two, the odor faded away. The silicone makes it a firm toy, but the texture is very smooth for easy insertion. There are no seams and the rounded end makes it very comfortable, with no worries of scratching or tearing the sensitive lining of the anal canal. This is not a realistic toy by any means, but that is not what I look for in anal toys. I am more interested in the sensation of fullness. I would recommend this toy for more advanced users and not for anal novices. Also, you cannot use silicone lube on this toy; it will destroy it. Instead, use lots of water based lube.

I really like the design of the Severin medium plug. The shape provides plenty of the fullness that I find enjoyable, but the graduated bulbs make it easy to use. I find it does a fantastic job of giving a full sensation, as well as stimulating the prostate for very powerful orgasms. The Severin has 4" of insertable length, with the last bulb being 1 7/8" in diameter. The neck is 1 1/8" in diameter and the base is large enough to keep it in place without getting lost. The overall length of the Severin is 4 3/4", and the circumference is 6". It is small enough to pack in an overnight bag, so traveling is no problem. If flying, our toys go into our checked bags. That way, if someone searches our bags, at least we don't have to look at them face to face. As for the size being a good fit for the average user, I would suggest those new to anal play should start with the smaller Severin. The medium does take a little getting used to.

I love this toy. The best part about it is that the diameter is just large enough to provide the fullness I look for in an anal toy, but not big enough to be scary. Since the Severin is silicone, you must never use silicone lube. Only used water based lube. Clean up is fairly simple. Because silicone is not porous, it can be cleaned with soap and water or a good toy cleaner. It can also be placed in boiling water for a few minutes, and it is dishwasher safe. I personally don't want my toys in the dishwasher, but you can if you like. Since my wife and I don't share toys we don't use condoms, but for safety reasons use them if you do share. We keep our toys in white socks placed in our toy bags. On occasion it will pick up a little lint from being stored this way, but it cleans off with a little soap and water before use.
