I enjoyed the Dipper. It didn't send me to ecstasy, but it's made with some of the best materials and stays in well, as one hopes a butt plug would, and gives a good ride. It’s a "door-opener" toy and for some, maybe a "key" to open the room to "dip" in larger toys. If you’re beginner or are moving to intermediate, it may be for you. It can also be for experts who are just looking to get the fun going, before moving on something bigger. I would say it’s a versatile double, or triple, dipper toy.

Pros
Nice silicone design, stays in securely.
Cons
Uncomfortable to sit directly on the base (could be cushioned), not wide enough for "size-experts".
The Dipper is categorized as a Butt Plug. Though it seems to have a dual nature. It is a bit longer than most butt plugs I have experienced, but this is not bad. Because of this, I found it can be used it two ways.
Firstly, it can be used a classic butt plug. It flares out 5 inches from the tip and narrows again. It fits well and deep, but not too deep, and comfortably at that 5 inch length and stays put. In fact, of the butt plugs I have used, this one stays put best. I believe this is due to the fact it is made of silicone. I was able to walk around without any real thought of it falling out.
Secondly, it can be used as a dildo. The base of the Dipper flares out to 2 and 1/2 inches and, while it does not have a suction cup, you can either (1) manually slide it in and out or (2) hold this reasonably wide based steady with your palms and ride up and down, or perhaps even use an O-ring for hands-free. When there is no partner to strap-on, I often put the straps around the base of a chair and attach dildos to O-rings and find good movement.
The Dipper is made of platinum grade silicone. It comes with all the good features I have always heard about with silicone. It has no smell, for one thing, and warms to the body well, as it claims. You can squeeze it and it gives a little, but it still feels firm and sturdy, but still it is rather flexible around its narrowest point. However it does not really have much of a life-like feel as it claims, if "life-like" is supposed to be compared to the feel of my own skin. Its surface is smooth but not slippery, unless you use some lubrication, and even then it seems to "flow" slowly with the skin or with your body.
Initially I wondered about its shape, whether it would be usable or not. Yet upon gliding it into my anal cavity (with just a little bit of lubrication) I found its top rocket-like shape at the first 5 inches, followed by the rapid (and slightly tapered) narrowing until it reaches the widely flared base, to feel comfortable, snug and very safe. Nothing would ruin a wonderful anal arousal more than a toy lost inside. The way it is designed, including the shape and material, it seems it would be very difficult to do and I felt very safe and confident in using it.
That being said, I would have like it to be a little wider. It has a 1 and 3/8 inch diameter at its widest (a pretty accurate description). For someone who might like a "full" or "filled-up" feeling, as I do, this might be a bit too narrow. If it was around 2 inches in diameter (maybe a little more) it would have been even better, whether for butt plug use or dildo use. It didn't carry that filled-up feeling that I enjoy.
The only discomfort I felt was when sitting on a hard chair, with the lowest part of my back and buttocks flush straight with the back of the chair. The base dug into my buttocks and caused pain. The 2 and 1/2 inch base is good for safety, as said, but it is very firm and does not give much. Hence the discomfort. Also, it is not concealed very well if you wanted to wear it for an extended period under clothes, unless you are wearing a baggier pants or a skirts. I would not recommend wearing "skinny jeans" or shorts or bicycle pants over these and going anywhere, unless you are into being seen.
It is a useful as a butt plug for beginners down to the 5" (first flare) or intermediate for the total insertable length which is slightly longer than 6 and 1/2 inches (at about 6.6 inches).
I have the Grey colored Dipper (or what Doc Johnson calls "Charcoal"). It is a sleek and cool color, with striations/streaks of lighter and darker shades in it.
I best enjoyed the snug feel inside and safety of it. If you are using an O-ring, make sure it is form fitting, as there are a lot of bulges up and down the butt plug. If you are used to that "full-feeling" and are looking for it here, you might get it length-wise but width-wise it may leave you wanting more. Its base is a plus for safety, but a minus for comfort if sitting wrong, and you want to use if for an extended period in public you'll need to plan on not wearing tight clothing.
The toy is made of silicone and I found it easily cleans in warm water and antibacterial soap, boiled for 3 minutes or on the top rack of the dish washer. Water based lubricants are recommended. I usually rinse it before use, even if I keep it in sanitized environment.
EdenFantasys sent it in a very discreet box. Once inside the box, the Dipper was packaged in a simple form-fitting plastic box, which snaps together. Nothing spectacular, though it could be stored in this easily though not very discreetly. There were no instructions, other than for cleaning which said it was top-rack dish washer safe.
Most of the time I am a "size-queen" (or "size-king" perhaps?) I like my anal toys big and filling. I like them to make me groan. This didn't really do that to me. But I can see it being an entry way to the bigger toys I use, since I never go straight for the bigger/filling toys without starting smaller. As much as I crave the bigger, I am also sensible and safe. This means lubes and gradually working up to larger, which means this is a good "door-opener" toy for me.
It only loses one star, because the base is not comfortable to sit on and also because part of me wants the shaft thicker.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it12 months after original review
My recommendation of the product has not changed. It remains a rather good beginner to intermediate toy. It serves well as an "appetizer" for the more advanced player, until ready for the "main course" bigger toys. This latter use remains my primary usage.
I really love the material, which is silicone. I have come to appreciate that material in other toys more, and try to lean toward that material when looking at future toys. It is soft, smooth and a real gentle lover. However, I still find it slightly uncomfortable to use the Dipper in the sitting position.
Still, I have not used it as much as I do other toys because I like to be filled up, even at the start. The dipper surely doesn't make me groan or cum like the other toys I own.

~LaUr3n~, I'm not sure what "nommed" means. I'm probably too green with regard to the all the "cyber age" phrases.
