The Icicles. No. 1 is a double-ended glass dildo with a spiral ridge for added texture. Either end of the dildo can be used vaginally, and the bulbed end might provide g-spot stimulation for some. The narrower end can be used anally, with the bulb to serve as an anchor. I would not recommend inserting the bulbed end, since there would be nothing to prevent the dildo from being sucked inside your ass, though technically, it's a bit long for that. This toy has a lot of texture in the form of the spiral ridge that wraps around the shaft of the toy. The ridge is rather pronounced. While I enjoy some texture a lot, I find that I need to use this dildo gently and apply some lube, since glass does make the texture more pronounced than it would be on a more plush toy, such as a silicone toy. If used slowly, you can feel each individual ridge, but when fast thrusting is used with this toy, it becomes more of an increased friction. This toy might have too much texture for some. The girth of the shaft of this toy is medium, 1" throughout. The girth would be just fine for a beginner to glass, but the texture, in my opinion, makes it more suitable for those with a little bit of experience with glass toys and textured toys in general. Unless you're someone who had tried rigid toys with a lot of texture in the past, this Icicle is something you may have to warm up to. This toy provides the most texture I would want from a toy, and I consider myself in the medium range of the textureslut scale. For those who like a LOT of texture, this toy might be a nice gentle experience. The texture provides great stimulation for vaginal orgasms. Some, including me, might find that the bulbed ends rubs their g-spot the right way to orgasm that way as well. I really only use vibes for my clit, but the texture does provide stimulations when rubbed against the clit, and that might be enough for some users to achieve a clitoral orgasm. The texture does make it feel a little more girthy than other toys this size.

Do keep in mind that this is a handmade glass toy, and that there will be some variations from product to product. Mine, for example, is half an inch shorter than what is listed on the product page. On some, the texture might be more or less pronounced, and the girth may also vary slightly.

The first time I used this toy, I started out by slowly inserting the small end cold into my vagina. I was amazed at the way the texture felt. I use this toy gently, since fast thrusting with this toy is painful for me because of the texture. It's long enough to easily hit my cervix, so I also have to be careful not to thrust it in too far. The vaginal stimulation I get from this toy is great. Anally, I prefer to use a condom with this toy simply because it makes the texture less pronounced and I don't want to risk tearing up my anus. The condom might not be necessary, but that depends on personal preference. Because it's so rigid, I have to find a comfortable position for inserting this all the way. On my hands and knees is what works best for me. Vaginally, this is less of an issue since my vagina can only take 6 inches of this toy, but there are still some positions that are a little uncomfortable, such as leaning back against a wall with my legs flat. This dildo also feels awesome when it's rotated while inserted so that you can feel the spirals internally.

The small end is my favorite for vaginal or anal play with this toy, but for g-spot stimulation, the bulbed end of this toy worked well for me. My g-spot is located about 4 inches in, just above my pubic bone. I've heard from others who have shallower g-spots that this toy also works for them. I find that the way that the bulb firmly hits my g-spot when thrusted at the right angle and slightly catches on my pubic bone when it's pulled out rubs my g-spot and brings me to orgasm. I don't know if the bulb would make this toy compatible with a harness, since I haven't tried it, but it would probably be pretty uncomfortable for the wearer since it's a bulb, rather than a flat base.

Glass is super easy to take care off. Between regular uses, it's best to wash it with soap and water. Pay special attention to the spiral ridge, since fluids can collect in there. You can also use a toy cleaner on it. If you're sharing it between partners/orifices without a condom, it can be sterilized by bleaching, boiling, or putting it in the dishwasher (top rack, no soap). If boiling, handle it carefully afterwards since it will be hot and do not put it in the freezer afterwards or it will crack. The packaging is very classy. It has a picture of the toy on the front, and the front opens to reveal the toy in a bed of foam. It would work well for storing or displaying the toy(thought it is a little bulky for storage, and it's also great for gifting. It is not discreet, since it has pictures of the toy on all sides and describes the toy as a "hand-blown glass massager" right on the front, so you may want to gift it in private.

As a straight, medium-girth textured glass dildo, this is great. And if that's what you want, you won't find a better option for the price. I recommend this toy to those who are moderate texturesluts and love glass. This wouldn't be a great first glass toy or a first textured toy, since the texture is pretty intense. I would recommend a waved glass piece, such as the Icicles No. 8 or the Sasha Swell Wand, for a first glass dildo, unless you already know you like texture. I also recommend trying out a textured toy made of something more plush and forgiving, like silicone, before trying this toy. I do recommend this as a second glass piece, especially since it's double-ended and you can get a lot of different uses from it - vaginal, g-spot, anal, and possibly even clitoral.
