A Classic for a Reason.
Value for money wise, this butt plug is a great purchase. It's a no-frills product that does exactly what you want it to, and is suited to people who are looking to dabble with stretching up to this size, but who don't want to break the bank. More experienced users may prefer to pay more for a superior silicone product.

Pros
Inexpensive, has a gentle gradient, easy to remove from the body.
Cons
Not the best material or build quality.
The Classic Butt Plug Royal is a large plug, aimed at those with some prior experience in anal play. Lengthwise it measures in at 5 3/4" - with 5" of that being insertable — which gives it a very gentle gradient from the tip to the widest part of the bulb. At its thickest point the plug has a diameter of just over 2 1/4", which is quite substantial. Given the size the plug isn't something you want to rush using, even if you've taken this size before. It's important to go slowly to allow your muscles time to adapt and adjust to the size, else you risk causing tears or more serious injury. The gentle gradient does help a lot when inserting the plug, and allows you to gradually work it in a little at a time, which also makes it a very useful tool for anyone looking to work their way up from a slightly smaller size.
Beneath the bulb is a 7/8" long neck, allowing plenty of space for the muscles to close down behind it once the plug is fully inserted. The neck is 1 1/4" thick, which is significantly narrower than the widest point of the plug, and helps to keep it held securely in place for prolonged wearing. Attached to this is a wide flared base, which prevents the possibility of the toy becoming lost inside you, and also doubles as a handle for pulling the plug out again once you're finished. Removing the plug is very easy to do once you're finished, due to the gently rounded underside of the bulb, which encourages the muscles to dilate when need be.
The plug itself is made from Doc Johnson's Silagel material, but unlike some other Silagel products it's noticeably constructed in two separate layers. The plug has a thin outer shell made of a rather tough PVC material, and this is then filled with a flexible rubber centre. When squeezing the plug you can feel that the two layers aren’t completely fused together, and it’s possible to pinch the outer skin between a thumb and forefinger, independent of the rubber core. Overall the combination does produce a product which feels quite solidly built, and it leaves the only mould line hidden below the base. It's not as soft as a silicone plug, but it’s quite comfortable to use still.
Like all Silagel products the plug does come with a noticeable odour, but it's not unpleasant in the way which some others have been. The fragrance has a fruity note to it, and over time it did eventually perfume my entire toy drawer.
The plug can be cleaned easily with antibacterial soap and hot water, or wiped down with toy cleaner. Although Silagel is advertised as an antibacterial material itself, it’s still porous and cannot be completely sterilised, so it’s best not to share it with a partner. The material is prone to attract a lot of dust and other small particles, so it's advisable to allow it to air dry rather than using a towel, and rinse it off before use.
The packaging is of a very simple plastic clamshell design; though it is a little too bulky to be a convenient way to store the toy on a long-term basis.
On the whole I'm pretty pleased with this toy, and for the price it’s a great way to start experimenting with a plug of this size.

Experience
When the plug pops inside you for the very first time you experience an incredibly full feeling. The immediate urge is to push the plug back out again. With practice you should be able to learn to keep the plug in there for extended periods of time, and enjoy the stretched feeling that comes with it. The large size of the plug means it pushes right up against the prostate, and causes strong sensations there.
Other than using it alone, the plug is a great preparation tool for taking something large, like the TitanMen Big Stuff.

Follow-up commentary

I still think for the price this is a great product, and I'm happy to own it.
Originally I only bought it because I needed something to help prepare myself to fit the Double Bubble, which I was struggling with, and so I wasn't looking to spend a lot.
The more I've been using this toy, and the more I've been enjoying it, the more I find myself considering an upgrade to something superior.
It did exactly what I wanted it to, and so I give it full credit for that, but for long term use I'm probably going to replace it with the Super Big End.
As a training tool it works well, but for something you intend to wear a while, I would prefer the comfort of a silicone plug.

It's important with all toys, but especially one of this material to talk about proper cleaning and safety Just a friendly suggestion. I once had this many years ago but never could quite take it. This was at my beginning stages of anal experimenting. Now I use the Super Big End and recommend you do upgrade to that. I don't think you will be disappointed at all. Thanks for the review!
