Bring Out the Black Lights
If you like things that glow in the dark, the Glo Pop Plug may make you happy. This one glows a fantastic orange, which is pretty cool. It also has decent vibrations for your anal fun. It's a bit on the small side, however, and its head can compress during insertion. It also has a distinctive smell, and its short battery life means you'll have to keep a supply of watch batteries on hand.

Pros
Glows orange in the dark, decent vibrations, cute.
Cons
Short battery life, very small, head compresses, smell.
As I’ve mentioned in a few other reviews, I have a thing for glow-in-the-dark toys. Why? Because, honestly, they’re pretty cool. They make me want to pull out the black lights and velvet posters and get groovy. The thing with most glow toys, though, is that almost all of them glow green. I’ve always wondered if they could make them in other colors, but I’m not wondering anymore, now that I have a Glo Pop Plug!
This plug comes in a black box, accented with grey text and a colorful four-color logo. The plug is visible through a window in the front, and product information is on the back. The front of the box proclaims the Pop Plug as “the hottest vibe ever seen in the dark.”
The Glo Pop Plug comes in 4 enticing colors: blue, pink, yellow and orange. I got the orange one, and it’s that wonderful, vivid, and bright black-light orange you see on posters. It’s practically neon. It does have a rubber smell right out of the box, but you have to get your nose close to it to smell it, thankfully. It’ll also leave a light rubbery smell on your fingers; washing your hands will remove all trace of it.
This plug is very small – it’s just 3” long overall, including the protruding bullet (2 1/2" long for the plug itself), with 2” insertable. The ball on the end is about an inch long and just under 1 1/4" in diameter, and the neck is about 3/4" in diameter. The ball is completely hollow, so it’s very easy to push the sides in. This makes it very easy to insert the plug, but the head tends to stay indented unless you fiddle with it and it’s hard to tell how much it compresses during use, so you won’t get the “pop” you might expect. The base is wide and flared, but it’s also not thick.
The bullet is removable, although it will take some work to get it out and in. You’ll need to roll the sleeve up from the base and tug and wiggle the bullet to get it out. It’s much easier to put back in. The bullet is small – just 2 1/4" long and about 5/8” in diameter. It’s operated by 3 watch batteries (LR44 - included). To insert the batteries, simply unscrew the cap from the bottom of the bullet and put the batteries in face up.
The bullet features variable steady vibrations, which are controlled by the twist dial on the bottom of the base. Just twist to increase the vibrations from low to high. As you’d expect with a watch battery powered device, the vibrations are very buzzy, although they are decent in power, and they can be felt up and down the bullet. When the bullet’s inserted in the plug, it makes the head and neck vibrate nicely. This plug is pretty quiet, and with a bit of background noise on, no one will know you’re using it, whether on your bed or in the shower or tub (it’s waterproof). The battery life is short – about 30 minutes with the vibrations turned on high.
This plug is made of phthalates free PVC which contains Doc Johnson’s antibacterial Sil-A-Gel compound. This material is hypoallergenic, and also latex and cadmium free. It’s porous, so please don’t share, or if you do, use a condom. The plug is easy to clean, both before and after use, with soap and water. You can also use a toy cleaner to keep it clean. The toy can be stored in its plastic trays inside the original box, or it can be kept in a toy box or bag with the batteries removed to increase their lifespan. Both water-based and silicone lubes are safe to use.

Experience
As soon as I got this, I had to test out the glow factor. I put it under a lamp for about 10 minutes, then shut off the light, and…it glowed! It glowed orange! It’s not the brightest thing I’ve seen glow in the dark, but it was bright enough, and totally gave this plug a cool factor.
I like the vibrations the Pop Plug has. Unlike on my clit, I don’t need them that strong in my ass, and even on medium the vibrations were more than enough (they were good on low and high as well). I could really feel them well, for the whole 2” the toy was in. I would have loved to have this at least an inch or so longer, though. I also would have preferred that the head be solid. I couldn’t tell how much it was compressing, but it was some for sure, and a more solid head would have felt better to me.
I also wish the battery life was longer. Running the bullet on medium to high gave me about 1/2 hour of use. We play longer than that often, and having it quit after 30 minutes was kind of a “bummer.” I actually have a small stash of LR44 batteries so we were able to replace them and keep going, but it would be nice if the bullet had more lasting power.
I’m also not keen on the smell. It doesn’t smell as vinyl-like as other toys of this material that I have, which may be because it’s so thin. But it does have that distinctive aroma that’s hard to miss.
