The Black Magic Vibe from Doc Johnson is a great vibrations for a few reasons. It serves multiple purposes, and does them all quite well. It is well made, decently strong, and fairly quiet. It is certainly affordable.





The design of the toy is a series of bulges, in increasing diameter. They range from about 3/4" in diameter to 1 1/4" diameter. The vibrations of this toy are most strongly felt in the tip, but they are felt through the entire toy as well. It only comes in one color, basic black. You could use this toy for clitoral, vaginal or anal stimulation. As a clitoral vibrator, it isn't going to be the most powerful option, but as an add on to partner play it can be nice. As a a vaginal vibrator it works very well. The increase in diameter and textural addition of the bulges feels very nice. By manually angling the toy, you can reach your g-spot with the tip, where the strongest vibrations are, and it packs a punch. The package suggests using this toy as an anal toy as well. I caution anyone using it this way to be very careful, as it doesn't have a flared base. With a careful partner, or by being careful yourself, you could use this for an anal probe. The increase in diameter of each bulge does provide you with a bit of protection against it being drawn in further than you'd like. In terms of sensation, it really shines as an anal toy. This controls for the Black Magic are fairly simple. There is a basic turn knob on the base of the toy. You turn the knob in one direction to increase the intensity of the vibrations, and turn the knob in the other direction to turn it off. Black Magic takes one AA battery, and it has a decent amount of vroom for a toy that only needs one battery. It is also quite quiet. I can't hear it outside the covers unless I really listen for it.





Black Magic is made of plastic, which scores an 8 out of 10 on the Eden Fantasy safety scale. It is a hard plastic, so there is no bend or give to this toy. It is not flexible at all. The outside of the toy has a velvety feel which is quite nice. There is very little drag. You could use any type of lube with this toy, so feel free to use your favorite water, silicone or oil based product. Black Magic is also waterproof and able to be submerged, so you can take this toy in the shower or bath with you. You could also use this in a pool or hot tub. There is no noticeable odor to this toy at all. It is non-porous and phthalate-free.









Black Magic comes in a plastic package which could be used to store it. I don't see it lasting a very long time if it is opened and shut a fair amount, so you might want to think about storing it another way. Because it is plastic it is easy to store, with no special care instruction. It could be stored in a drawer or toy box.

This one still gets used every not and then. It's such a great combination of beads and vibration, that it's a unique toy.
