This review has taken a while to write for two reasons. First, I have come to enjoy this toy so much that every time I begin to think about it, I just have to use it. Second, there are several pros and cons to this toy that create an odd balancing act of an overall experience. When I first read the details for The Colt Stallion Tail Smooth, I was rather deterred by the low material safety level. Seeing "rubber" (rated 3/10) listed among the materials was nearly an instant deal breaker simply because it is so difficult to thoroughly clean. I was also concerned about the probe itself which is made of PVC (rated 2/10).


Because it is a probe and not a plug, it does not have a flared base of any kind to hold it in place. The sans-base design may add to the illusion of having a pony tail, but there is nothing to stop it from being "eaten" by a rear that can handle more than is being offered. The only way to get it back in that scenario would be to pull on the elastic rubber tail - a thought that bothered me. An upside to the PVC/Rubber combo is that they are both safe to use with either water-based or silicone-based lubricants; so it's okay to be generous with the slippery stuff. The Colt Stallion Tail Smooth is also safe to use in the shower. However, I personally wouldn't recommend it because water (at least in my experiences) just washes off the lube, and can add friction. Keep in mind that toys made from Rubber and/or PVC are very porous, and should not be shared with others without the use of a condom. When cleaning up, remember to clean the toy off (preferably before and after each use) with warm water and an antibacterial soap. Be sure to thoroughly rinse out the tail which is eleven inches and twenty-eight centimeters in length (nearly two feet) because soap, lube, and santorum tend to hang on to the rubber stands.


One feature I really like is the box in which it comes. The simple red, black, and white design make it look as if it might be mistaken at a glance for an auto part box. This was a nice change from the trashy packaging that tends to come with different sex paraphernalia. It also shows a few key facts about the toy that I had been wondering about such as whether the probe is hard or soft. As it says on the box, the probe is "firm and pliable." While it isn't very bendy, it does has a give to it rather than being solid like glass.


The box also claims that the toy is "smooth and seamless." For the most part, this is true. The toy has a very smooth and slightly glossy surface and there is no seam running the length of the probe. There is, however, a small, clear plastic ring of some sort at the very base where the tail and the probe meet. From the looks of it, I would say it was probably glued on to keep the tail in place, but I do not know for sure. It isn't anything to be too worried about so long as you take special care to clean the rim after each use.

After writing my previous review, I knew I wanted something bigger, and I got it. The probe itself is just over seven inches in length (entirely insertable), and has a diameter of one and three quarters of an inch. Pulling this toy out of the box, my eyes were wide with anticipation. I gave it a quick pre-wash, dried it, and added some lube before using. My first time using it was a little difficult because I wasn't used to anything that size. I didn't think it would be fair to write a review after only using it once, though, so I gave it another shot. Boy am I glad I did! On the second try, I knew what to expect, and the probe turned out to be a perfect fit. Getting past the wide head was a little tricky at first, but it was smooth sailing after that.


I absolutely love the way this probe feels inside me! When I use skinnier toys, it tends to feel like someone is poking me with their finger (good for some, maybe, but not really my thing). The Colt Stallion Tail Smooth's probe gives me a deliciously full sensation without poking me in the stomach. In addition, it stays put when inserted to the base. Above all else, I love feeling it inside me during an orgasm. It intensifies the experience as whole.


There are two things I would change, if I could. First, the probe (and possibly the whip also) would be made of silicone which would be easier to sanitize. Second, it would have a flared crescent shape (like on the Organics anal plug). This would prevent the probe from being "eaten," and would still be able to remain relatively hidden between the buttocks. I would recommend this to advanced users who are looking into pony play or simply enjoy the novelty of this toy, but I would also advise to keep an eye out for similar products with better materials.

I've had this unique toy for a while now, and the only problem I have with it is that I'm starting to find it more difficult to accommodate (inside myself) than I used to. It still is in excellent condition, and I truly enjoy using it. The only modification I've had to make was to shorten the tail because I never used it except as a sort of handle.
