A Very Aptly Named Plug
For the money, The Big End is well worth the purchase. It is easy to clean and, if you are not a beginner, it is relatively easy to build up to having inside your butt. It's incredibly comfortable to wear as well.

Pros
Slick silicone material. Solid base.
Cons
Lint magnet.
This is not a beginner's butt plug. The smoothness and flexibility may cause you to mistake it for an easy plug, but if you are not used to anal toys, The Big End is anything but easy. The first couple of times I used it, I could not put it in all the way; my body wouldn't allow me to hurt myself like that. I worked my way up to this plug with plugs of varying sizes, including a large plug that is slightly smaller than this one.
All of that being said, this is an excellent plug for people who aren't beginners to anal toys. My favorite features of this plug are its flexibility, smoothness, and base. The flexibility makes the plug, once in, feel much more natural than I might think a giant silicone object up my butt feels like. It is extremely comfortable, one of the more comfortable plugs I've worn. The smoothness, with water-based lube, makes the insertion relatively easy, especially in comparison with metal plugs. The base is surprisingly comfortable between my butt cheeks. I was concerned that it would not be wearable when I first bought it, but I have been pleasantly surprised. Also, the base gives me something to actually hold, or just keep my hand pressed against, as I have been working up to putting the plug fully into me. If it's not all the way in, and you don't keep your hand on it, it'll slip right out. That is a slight problem if you are trying to work up to having it all the way inside. The base gives you something to either keep your hand against or hold onto.
Another note on materials, this is a silicone butt plug. That means that you cannot use silicone lube; water-based lube is necessary. However, it does mean very easy cleaning. Soap and hot water work nicely, or you could use your dishwasher. It being silicone also means that it is a lint magnet. Every hair, speck of dust, etc. gets on this plug. I've been keeping it in its original packaging, but I'm seriously considering switching to a plastic bag in hopes of cutting down on this problem.
A positive note about this plug is how it makes me feel once it's inside. It immediately turns me on, which will make it a lot of fun to use with other toys. I haven't tried it with other toys yet, but my body's reaction tells me that future play with other things will be a ton of fun.

Experience
Unless you are more experienced in anal, this toy takes a bit of work to build up to. I recommend a lot of lube, breathing, and taking it slow. Push it in until you notice that it is very slightly less comfortable. Hold it there for a minute, and then pull it back out. Repeat the process again and again, and you'll find that you are able to get more of it in over time. Relax, and finally make that final tiny push. The work is very much worth it. It's okay if it takes more than one session. Injuring yourself takes the fun out of anal play.

Thank you for viewing The big end – butt plug discontinued review page!
I wanted to mention that you could test hybrid silicone/water-based lubes, but that requires careful testing for reactions. If you are willing, I have heard they really do well for anal and I know many of the top brand silicones such as Tantus do fine with hybrid lubes such as Sliquid Silk, Spunk Lube Hybrid, Liquid Silk and others. But it is important to always test on a small, inconspicuous place on the toy and if any reaction such as tackiness, or surface changes occur, remove it immediately with a paper towel and wash any residue off with soap and water, pronto! Since this can leave a damaged part on the surface, it can compromise the integrity of the safety rating of the material -- meaning that area, if it reacted, can now be porous, so beware.
