A small, versatile anal plug
The Non-skid is a great anal plug for light or beginner use. It can be inserted and enjoyed with ease during masturbation, foreplay or sex. Non-skid is affordable but its rubber material is porous and has a poor odor. It's best to use this toy with a condom.

Pros
Manageable size, affordable
Cons
Rubber smells bad and is difficult to keep clean
The Non-skid is a small, red butt plug made by Doc Johnson. I got this toy because of its manageable size and price and as an alternative to my Tantus Ryder, which is a great silicone plug, but its 1.5" girth makes it best for more in depth anal play. I wanted a plug for lighter play that could be used easily with a partner in the spur of the moment.
Non-skid comes in a standard Doc Johnson plastic package with their typical less-than-classy designs. The packaging does not clearly state the material and properties of this toy. As soon as I busted the plastic open I was taken aback by the terrible smell of the rubber this toy is made of. Twice I scrubbed it with soap but the smell was still very evident. This made me even more skeptical of using toys made out of rubber. Generally I stick to the non-porous materials like silicone, glass and metal.
Because the Non-skid is made of rubber, you have to be extra careful keeping it clean. I would highly recommend using a condom with this plug, especially for anal or multiple users. You can use both silicone and water lubricant.
The texture of the Non-skid is rough, squishy and rather strange. Although unusual, it does help to stay in and give a bit more stimulation. My plug is the smaller 4" version with a 1" diameter and insertable length of 3.5". The shaft has a very slight taper and would be better at staying in if the bulbous part was, well, more bulbous. However, the gentle curves make this a great toy for anal beginners. The very tip is about .5" and very easy and painless to insert.
As far as experience goes, this toy performed well and in the way that I wanted it to. Sometimes during masturbation or sex I just want some lighter anal play that doesn't require too much warming up or commitment. The Non-skid was great for this. Because of its thin width, my partner or I could easily slip it in at any time and it was never uncomfortable to wear during sex. It adds just the perfect amount of light anal stimulation, not too much or too little.
After several uses and washes the rubber smell subsided a little but it is still noticeable. If you are concerned about material as I am, I would recommend spending the extra $4 to buy Doc Johnson's similar silicone version called The Li'l End. You could also consider the Pleasure #1 by Happy Valley or Slim by Tantus.
