It's marketed as a g-spot toy, but I got the G-Play Medium to use as a vibrating anal plug. It's one of only a handful of vibrating, anal-safe toys available on Eden Fantasys that is made from a non-porous, sterilizable material and doesn't use watch batteries.

Pros
Size and shape are great for anal use, removable silicone sleeve, AA battery.
Cons
A bit too small for g-spotting, not waterproof, annoying battery cap.
Nexus describes the G-Play Medium as a vibrating unisex g-spot massager, which means it's meant to stimulate the g-spot or prostate. It doesn't do anything for me as a g-spot toy, but luckily I bought it with anal use in mind. It works very well for me as a vibrating plug, and I enjoy using it during sex or along with a vaginal toy.
The G-Play is made from silicone. It is non-porous and can be sterilized which makes it a great choice for anal use. It is body safe, phthalates and latex free, hypo-allergenic, and a food-grade material. There is no taste or smell.
The silicone has a matte finish, and a velvety feel. The silicone has a very slight amount of give, and the head has some flexibility, but the rest of the toy is not flexible due to the hard vibrator inside.
When viewed from the front, the G-Play has a fairly consistant width, ranging from 3/4" to 5/8", with a 1" wide base. Viewed from the side it has a curvy, bulged shape that ranges from 3/4" to 1 1/8" thick. The thicker middle followed by a narrower neck helps to toy to stay inserted. The top part of the toy curves forward, which is meant to provide stimulation to the g-spot or prostate. The flared base prevent the G-Play from slipping inside, and is small enough to be comfortable between my cheeks and to not block access to my vagina.
The maximum circumference is 3 1/2" and the insertable length is 3 1/8". The size works well for anal use. It's large enough that it's definitely noticeable, but small enough to easily insert, and allows me to comfortably fit something in my vagina at the same time. I find it too small for g-spot use. My g-spot is about 2 inches deep, so there's enough length to reach it, but not much left over for thrusting. It isn't thick enough for me to get any pressure on my g-spot without thrusting, even if I clench my vagina around it. I've tried pushing down on the base to angle the head up into my g-spot, but that didn't help either.
The base of the toy has a plastic area with a power button and battery compartment. This plastic portion extends up into the toy, and contains the vibrating motor. The silicone can be peeled off for cleaning.
The design is fairly discreet, and it is small enough to be easily traveled with. Just make sure to remove the battery, since there is no way to lock the controls and you wouldn't want it to turn on in your bag.
According to the packaging and other reviews, this is supposed to be a one speed toy. I think there must have been a mixup at the factory and my Medium ended up with a motor intended for a G-Play Large. Mine has 5 vibration patterns. I actually wish I had gotten one that simply turned on and off. I don't enjoy patterns, and only use solid vibrations. There is a single button that turns the toy on, and cycles through the patterns. When I have it on steady and hold the button down for the 2 seconds required to shut it off, it goes to the next setting before turning off. That means the next time I turn it on, it will be on one of the patterns and I have to cycle through them to get to steady vibrations. I'm not listing that as a con or deducting any stars for it, since most G-Play Mediums won't have the same problem.
The vibrations are fairly strong, and a little on the buzzy side. They're not enough to get me off if I used it on my clit, but for anal use they are enough to add a decent amount of extra stimulation. The vibrations are a bit louder than a cell phone, but shouldn't be heard through a closed door, especially when the toy is inserted.
The battery can be a bit of a hassle to insert or remove. You have to pull back on a little plastic tab to remove the battery cover. Once the tiny battery cover shot itself across my bedroom and I had to hunt around on my hands and knees til I found it under my dresser.
The silicone sleeve can be removed and washed with soap and water. If you want to switch between vaginal and anal use or share it with a partner, you can sterilize it with a 10% solution of bleach and water, or by boiling for 3 minutes. The vibrating portion isn't waterproof, so if you need to wash it be careful not to get any water inside the battery compartment.
Silicone toys can break down when used with silicone lubes. Stick with water or oil based, or perform a spot test before using a silcone lube.
My G-Play came packaged differently than the picture shown on the product page. Instead of a tube, it came in a black cardboard box.
The front of the box has a clear window where you can see the toy lying inside. It also features a sample of silicone for potential buyers in a store to feel before purchasing. The back of the box has information about how to clean and use the toy.
Inside the box, the G-Play is nestled into a cutout made from velvet covered plastic. The one AAA battery require to operate the toy is included. There is a booklet containing slightly more detailed instructions than those on the outside of the box, in several languages.
The packaging is classy and attractive, but not discreet. It could be used for storage, but the box is a little flimsy. I've owned mine for about 6 months and it's starting to look a bit beat up.
Follow-up commentaryI don't like it anymore12 months after original review
I haven't used this in quite a while. I've been reaching for my non-vibrating plugs instead. I think it's mainly because of the size; the G-Play medium is a lot smaller than my favourite plugs. I might have to upgrade to the G-Play large, so I can enjoy the vibrations along with more of a full sensation.
