A Good Intro, Not much more
A great intro for anal virgins, but not safe enough for extended use. Take care when using it, and you should be able to get your money's worth for a simple intro piece. For extended use, go with a safer material.

I've heard pretty mixed things about this toy, some people love it and some hate it. I'll be honest and say I'm not too thrilled about the material, but I've heard the rings on the silicone ones break ALL the time, and I'd rather not make that trip to the doctor's office.
When I used these, I was a complete anal virgin, and for me they were a wonderful intro. They're very easy to start out with, the graduated size and spacing make for a wonderful feeling when being pushed in or pulled out. Honestly, the material makes me squeamish to go back to them, no matter how much I wash them. I think the feelings are worth it, but I'm just not really sure how safe it is.
Due to this, the beads really haven't gotten much use. I've decided that although they feel wonderful, I should just remember and enjoy the first few uses I had with these beads. It's not like I'm really throwing much away, for the price, and for what I wanted- An intro to see if anal was for me- they worked just fine. I think, if you're going to use it just as an intro for a couple times, and you take proper precautions (condom use, proper cleaning and lubrication), then it should work just fine for you, and it's one of the cheapest options, without losing any of the fun or pleasure of other anal bead sets|Anal 101 intro beads.
So, overall I suppose I WOULD recommend these to a friend, simply not for extended use. Probably the only thing I would feel safe about using anally on a regular basis is silicone, or other nonporous materials, and there are plenty of options that fit in those loose requirements. There are many times however, when I've wanted just a taste before buying the whole pie, or rather, before spending a sizable chunk of cash on a very expensive toy, and this gave me that taste quite well.
I sincerely wish these anal beads|X - 10 beads™ were made in a safer material that held up to the quality of these. Of course, I know jelly isn't "quality" in most senses, however the handle didn't break on me, and it doesn't feel like it's going to break so long as you use common sense. If the same could be said for the silicone set of these, I'd be an instant fan.

I think it'd be hard to use a condom with anal beads. Good point about the introduction, these are certainly cheap enough to try out and then invest in a better version if you like the idea. Good quality silicone handles shouldn't break, though, it's a strong material. Something like this or this is a safer bet. -
True. I only used mine a couple times, and didn't use a condom, but I think if you really want to use these as more than an intro, you'd need some kind of barrier with it, since it's so porous. Personally I am investing in a higher quality anal kit or probe, I'm not sure yet. I'd just heard of the X-10 silicone beads' handle breaking off nearly every time, or else I would have gotten that set and skipped the icky material dilemma. -
The handle breaking off of an anal toy would definitely put a damper on a sexual situation. Thanks for the review. -
