-Packaging -
My partner and I are always looking to expand our ever growing collection of Tantus toys. So I was delighted to be reviewing the Buck anal probe.
If you have ever ordered a Tantus toy before then you know exactly what to expect with regards to packaging. The toy arrives is a see through plastic container with the toy held in place by a plastic insert. The outside of the box has the usual Tantus red. There are some facts and information about silicone on the back.
Overall I knew what to expect but I still found it to be lacking, the plastic is so thin that it can tear easily and leave some very sharp edges. I know the packaging isn’t the primary reason you get a toy but it would be nice to see something a little different. On the plus side it keeps the toy clean en route and is free from anything pornographic or seedy. It isn’t very durable so I don’t feel it would be suited to long term toy storage of the toy.
-Material/Specifications –
Being made of 100% medical grade silicone this is a superb material in general but particularly for anal toys as it is non-porous (doesn’t take in bacteria). It is Latex and Phthalate free and can be boiled to sterilise. It is completely odourless and tasteless as well.
Our initial impression of the toy was that it is quite generously sized for an anal toy (so not one for beginners) but that it is nicely flexible with lots of bend between its ‘beads’. The base of the toy has quite a thick base (as you would want in any anal toy) and it has a series of steps at the base which help you to keep a grip on it. The base is suited for wear in an O-ring harness too.
The finish on the buck is matte with a velvet-like look and feel and its silicone is softer and more squeezable than a lot of the Tantus toys in our collection.
The dimensions are as follows:
Total Length = 7 Inches
Insertable Length = 5 ½ Inches
Circumference (slimmest) = 3 ½ Inches
Circumference (widest) = 5 Inches
-In Use-
With its matte finish, lube is a must whether using this anally or vaginally (obviously not both at the same time). Water or oil based lubricants are the best as silicone lube has been known to damage the finish on silicone toys. The tip of the buck has a nice rounded shape to it which makes insertion comfortable. The top bead has a slightly smaller girth than the two following beads so this helps you to ease your way past it. Each bead is ever so slightly thicker than the last but not to a point where you feel too much stretch from one to the next.
The moderate flexibility of the Buck means that it can bend with your body. With all three beads inserted its total insertable length measures in at 5 1/4 inches which I found comfortable to take anally and my partner found comfortable vaginally. With all three beads inserted anally I did find that the base sits a little awkwardly as its neck is, well, a little lacking in length.
The base of the Buck is easy to grip and flared enough to ensure that the Buck won’t get lost inside you but I would have liked to see more of a neck area even if just for comforts sake. When used vaginally this isn’t as much of a problem.
With its ability to bend and adapt to the shape of your body we found that it can provide light prostate and even G-spot stimulation if angled right. The base works well in an O-ring harness, fitting a 1.5 inch O-ring. It fits into Rodeoh harnesses quite well and when used as a strap-on dildo it can work for G or P-spot stimulation by being used doggy style.

Experience
-Care/Storage-
Once you have finished playing with the Buck, cleaning is a breeze. The simplest way of cleaning is with some warm water and a mild antibacterial soap or toy cleaner. If you want to clean it more thoroughly you can boil it in a saucepan for three minutes to sterilise it. If privacy isn’t an issue you can even throw it into the top rack of a household dishwasher although using it anally you might want to rinse it off first.
Once it is clean make sure it is completely dry before storing it. As the material (like most silicone) is a serious dust/lint magnet you will want to find a way to safely store the toy. As I mentioned above the packaging is a bit delicate as well as taking up at twice the amount of space. The best storage solution we have found is a zip-seal type sandwich bag. These are great because as well as keeping the toy clean they also keep any of your other toys from reacting with it.
-Summary-
Overall we are both fans of the Buck, its matte finish requires a generous amount of lube but in use it has just the right amount of flexibility bend slightly with your body and find your sweet spot, whether it be a G-spot or prostate. Fitting into harnesses with its flared base, it is completely safe for anal use, ideal for pegging and can be sterilised between uses so it can be enjoyed vaginally too. And there is something just impressive about a black silicone toy. If you are a complete novice then this might be a tad intimidating but if you fancy a challenge then this is a really nice toy.
