50 Shades of Subtle Stimulation
Small but ideal for those whose anal curiosity has just been awakened by Fifty Shades. Handy finger loop for easy removal.
Published:
Pros
Well presented, comes with storage bag, quality silicone used, beginner friendly.
Cons
Too small for more experienced anal players.
Packaging:
The packaging of the Something Forbidden Butt Plug instantly reminded me of the book. The color of the glossy box is a gradual fade from grey to black. The Front of the box has Fifty Shades of Grey written on it in shiny silver lettering and features an image of the infamous silver/grey silk tie from the books.
The back of the box includes a quote from Ana herself and lots of information on how to best use the Something Forbidden Butt Plug. It then goes on to say that this is a part of the Official Fifty Shades of Grey Collection:
“Sensual pleasure products approved by author E.L James”
First Impression:
Removing the plug from its glossy packaging, the first thing I noticed was the included silvery grey satin drawstring bag. It has ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ printed on its front and is just the right size to house the Something Forbidden Butt Plug.
The information leaflet included is in the same style as the packaging which is a nice added touch. Again it provides helpful information to help those who are new to butt plug use.
The plug itself is smaller than I had anticipated, a perfect size for absolute beginners to anal play.
The shape of the plug is quite slim and the tip if the plug is tapered for easy and comfortable insertion. There is a slight seam along the sides of the plug but not to a point where they would be likely to be felt during use.
Near the base of the insertable portion of the plug ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ is actually engraved into the silicone. Under the insertable portion of the plug is a slimmer ‘neck’ to help the plug sit comfortably. Under that again is the finger loop which is handy for gripping onto during use and makes for easier hygiene.
In Use:
As I said the plug was a little bit smaller than I had anticipated in person so even for a beginner it is unintimidating. It has a matte finish like many silicone toys and being an anal toy, lubricant is a necessity. I take care to only use water or oil based lubricants on this as silicone lube on silicone toys can cause the finish to degrade. Inserting the Something Forbidden Butt Plug was as easy as expected with the tapered but rounded head making the initial insertion as comfortable as could be.
Along its three inches of insertable length the girth of the plug doesn’t increase much so even the absolute beginner out there may be surprised at how manageable this is.
Once inserted the loop-handle base makes this plug great for couples play and solo play as you or your partner can keep a good grip in it without too much distraction or effort. You can move it in or out with ease. In terms of actually ‘wearing’ the plug, the base wouldn’t be as good as some plugs for a couple of reasons. Firstly it has a lot of give to it so it might be too soft to keep the toy from going all the way in. It also does not have a flat base so sitting on it might actually force it further in than you would want.

Experience
...
Overall my experience with the Something Forbidden Butt Plug surprised me as not being an anal beginner myself I underestimated how stimulating its slender build could be. Holding onto the finger loop, the plug works well as a probe also, its shape is gentle enough to move around and use to penetrate during use too.
One thing the Something Forbidden Butt Plug works particularly well for is as a finger analogue. Its shape and size isn’t far off the size of a mans thumb so if you enjoy this type of stimulation this plug is a great alternative.
Care:
Made of Silicone, the Something Forbidden Butt Plug is both Latex and Phthalates free, silicone is completely non-porous meaning that it can be fully disinfected by boiling it for 3 minutes or by throwing it into the top rack of your dishwasher or it can be simply washed after use with warm soapy water or specialized toy cleaner, it is generally believed that silicone based lubricants should not be used with silicone toys. I would recommend using a drop of water-based lubricant with the plug.
Overall:
While those with more experience will likely find this plug too small, for beginners to anal play this is quite ideal as a first butt plug. The Silicone used is soft and flexible, the shape is slender with the gentlest of tapers and the finger loop is great for keeping a hold of and keeping hands clean and dry throughout play. The perfect starter plug for fans of the book series who are looking for first time anal experimentation.

Thanks for the added video review! I didnt realize just how flexible the finger loop is, and while i was weary about the small size, i think that completely turned me off from this toy. However, still very nice for beginners.
