Stroke My Pen
This little pen would make great addition to any bachelorette party since after the night is over, the participants can keep using this pen until it runs out of ink.

Pros
Pen works well, Little man is amusing
Cons
Looks/feels kinda cheap
With a few bachelorette parties coming up, including my own, I decided to start finding some fun little things that can be given out or just played with when everybody goes out. This little pen caught my eye and I had to try it out.
It comes in a package worthy of Spencer's or some other novelty shop, with the pen held in place on the front in a clear bubble. There's a little hole in the back of the packaging that let's you test out this little man's stroking abilities.
I'm not sure on the exact length of a standard pen, but this one doesn't seem like it's any bigger really. It's 6" long, 2 1/4" being dedicated to the stroking man on the top, and won't feel cumbersome at all for most people, even though it is a little wider around than most pens.
At first I thought that this was one of those pens that did its action while you were writing, and I thought it would be really funny to watch the little man on the top of my pen stroke himself while I wrote, because I do write pretty fast. But alas, he only strokes himself when you click the pen in or out. There's a little lever on the side that you press down once to click out, and the man strokes himself once by bringing his arms up and back down. Click it back in and the action is repeated.
I'm torn on the quality of the pen itself. I've used it to write, and it writes great. Like, you could replace one of your regular pens with this one and it would only change the fact that now you're writing with a pen with a little man on the top. But I'm not as sure about how well the casing and all that will hold up over time. It's definitely cheap, and this is evident most with the clicker, as sometimes it gets stuck in one position or the other, usually clicked out. When this happens, once you're sure that it's supposed to be clicked in, just press down like you're going to write something and it should pop back in where it should be. It's not a terribly consistent problem, but one that I've run into a little bit.
All in all, I think it's a great gag gift for a bachelorette party, girls night out, or anytime little men stroking themselves are acceptable. The fact that it actually functions well as a pen means that you can actually use it and so long as it doesn't live in the bottom of a purse or other bag, it should last you until the ink runs out.

Experience
At $4 a pop, I'm not sure this is the greatest choice for buying in bulk if they're just being bought for gag gifts and the like. The fact that the pen actually works, and actually works really well makes the purchase not so bad, for me at least.
Follow-up commentary
21 months after original review
This pops up every now and then while I'm cleaning and gives me some chuckles, then inevitably ends up getting lost again. I still think it's awesome and would buy it over again if I thought I would use it to write more.

So, how do you clean this? What's it made out of? How do you store it?
(completely serious)
Cuuuute pen... and it's good to hear that it's a good quality ink. I've had some junky pens that run out after about 5 min.
Annemarie, so if you drop it in a pot of boiling water until the color of the water starts changing to match the ink, then it should be clean, but I didn't really pay attention to the directions
..
Lmao, in all seriousness, I was so thrilled that the pen worked well. I'm thinking about putting it in my work truck so I'll actually have a frigging pen to write up returns, because the pens always disappear, but as the only female there I think this one might last a little longer, lol
Redvinylkitty, I think it'll hold up, but not to top terribly much.
Thanks guys
