Can I swap this for another?

This movie had some good ideas, but they just weren't executed well. The cast had a few standouts, but was mostly uninspiring. A promising premise, but a disappointing result.

As its name suggests, Official Wife Swap Parody is a parody of the TV show Wife Swap, in which two wives trade places for a time, typically involving a families which are very different from each other.

This movie features three such parings. It's structured in three acts (a bit like three episodes of the TV show). In each act, you first get a brief interview with each couple, then after the interviews the wives swap locations (or in one case the husbands swap) to meet their new partners. These segments are supposed to be amusing, and they're only mildly entertaining, and in some cases can be annoying. There are a few funny moments, but much of the time is spent on stupid racial stereotypes. You won't be watching this for the plot. Each act concludes with a pair of sex scenes with the swapped couples, which are pretty standard fare, before moving on to the next pair of couples. So all in all you get six sex scenes in the movie's two hours. (Or six and a half scenes, counting a brief blowjob mini-scene between the fourth and fifth scenes.)

Actors

The cast includes Kagney Linn Karter, Sara Sloane, Rebeca Linares, Nyomi Banxxx, Bobbi Starr, Julia Ann, Marco Banderas, Dane Cross, Mark Wood, Prince Yahshua, James Deen, Anthony Rosano, and Rob Spallone (non-sex role).

The cast is a mixed bag. I thought Kagney Linn Karter was great looking, but most of the cast didn't really do it for me.

A brief rundown of who's in which scene:

Scene one Mark Wood and Nyomi Banxxx in what I found to be a somewhat boring scene.

Scene two Prince Yashua and Bobbi Star had more chemistry and gave a more energetic performance.

Scene three Anthony Rosana and Sara Sloane gave an adequate, if somewhat lackluster performance.

Scene four James Deen and Julia Ann really went at it, but failed to catch my interest.

Mini scene Marco Banderas gets a very brief blowjob from Kagney Linn Karter in a nice preview of what's to come in scene six.

Scene five Dane Cross and Rebeca Linares had a reasonably good scene together.

Scene six Marco Banderas and Kagney Linn Karter were in a pretty hot scene, which was my favorite of the whole film.

DVD Features

Aside from the usual photo gallery (a few still images in a slideshow) and trailers, there's a menu for scene selection and a menu item giving quick access to the cum shots. The scene selection menu is well organized, listing each of the three "episodes", allowing you to start with the interview segment of an episode or jump straight to either sex scene in the episode.

There's also a ten minute "behind the scenes" featurette, which has a few amusing moments. It's mostly some insipid interview questions with a few members of the cast, along with a few shots of the director telling the actors how to deliver their lines and short snippet of a photographer taking some promotional stills. It's more coherent than the BTS features on some other DVDs I've seen, but it's not really worthwhile.

Personal comments

I like the premise of the movie, and I think this format definitely shows some promise. I just don't think the performers were really into it, and didn't have the right chemistry. Also, the sex was too formulaic, although I was glad to see that they didn't feel the need to end every scene with the now-standard oral cum shot.

I'd like to see Zero Tolerance make a sequel, and hopefully they can address some of the issues which dragged down this release.

Experience

Scene six was my favorite, but I enjoyed scenes two and five as well. My girlfriend liked scene two best, but she didn't get to see much of the last two scenes, as she was otherwise occupied.

I found the interviews somewhat funny, but was bored by the interactions between couples. My girlfriend was downright annoyed by the unfunny stereotypes and stupid insults. While she mildly enjoyed some of the actual sex scenes, the plot segments were a bit turn-off.

I honestly have a hard time finding any mainstream porn that doesn't follow that sex formula. But it was pretty apparent in this one. Good review.

Good review! It seems like about 7 or 8 people reviewed this movie all at the same time. Weird.

Yeah, porn is formulaic almost by definition.

P'Gell: yep, we did. And expect another dozen or more reviews, too.. we're all enrolled in EF's new Porn Club, and this was one of our two movies for the month. (The other one was Sanatorium, a decidedly non-forumlaic movie.)

I'm sorry you didn't like it! Thanks for the honest review though.

What did you think of the noises Kagney Linn makes during sex?
  • Contributor: tim1724
Avalein: It certainly had its moments. But overall, it had nothing to really make it stand out from the vast sea of similar porn out there.

La Roux: I don't understand why so many people were bothered by her in that scene.. I re-watched a bit of it, and it doesn't seem out of the ordinary to me.
