Waterproof, really? Or is it just me?

Contributor: All His All His
I have 2 Evolved toys that are both listed as waterproof and yet they have both broken because water got into the battery compartment and ruined them. Has this ever happened to anyone else's waterproof toys?

Informative topic breakdown of Waterproof vibrators:

What does waterproof mean exactly
Sinnflut reality vibrator is listed as a waterproof one. What does waterproof mean exactly? Can I submerge it in the water?

So, my waterproof vibe turned out not to be so waterproof.
Some moisture got into the battery compartment, the batteries leaked, and the contacts corroded. Is there any way to clean the contacts or should I...

Waterproof 7-Function Remote G-bullet batteries
I have been having trouble with the remote working properly and I think it may be the batteries. Does anyone know where I can purchase a replacement..

Which waterproof vibrator is the best out of the three?
I am debating between these to get one.

Is a toy being waterproof important to you?
Personally I think it's important, I'm always scared of getting lube or bodily fluids in the wrong places on non-waterproof toys! :/ And it's nice to.

I have a few that did this, thankfully it only caused some corrosion on the battery terminals and was an easy fix, if that's the case with yours you can check out my work shop.

One of the problems I find is that the O-ring that most toys use is damaged or too small to function properly. Also, making sure the battery lid/cap is tight can be an issue too; we tend to worry about tightening it to much and breaking it. One way to fix this is to head to a hardware store and buy a O-ring that is slightly thicker. This may or may not fix the problem but it only costs about 25-50 cents so no big loss there.

Unless there are lots of reviews stating that it is indeed waterproof, I only consider them splash proof at best.

^ What ToyTimeTim said. I've never had this problem. I've bought toys that have been labelled as "splash-proof" and that was a pretty accurate description. For toys with battery compartments, it's rare for them to actually be waterproof. You might have better luck with something rechargeable, with the bubble over the charging port, like a Jopen. But they're pretty pricey.

I know Evolved usually say they are waterproof Duo Obsession and Luck Roulette 13 both say so. However; the Duo Obsession is a screw lid that works wonders, but the Lucky 13 is more of a snap screw top and comes undone at the drop of a hat. I would say that the Lucky 13 is splash proof, not waterproof. But that is Evolved and what I had found about them.
