Do you prefer realistic looking or non-realistic toys? Why or why not?

A lot of "realistic" looking dildos I think are super over the top (veins, etc) which is both kind of uncomfortable and also unattractive. I'm a fan of simple design.
(There's also the factor that toys made with "realistic" material have other health/care concerns associated with them)

I like the VixSkin and O2 dildos. The realism in those is to my likening. I'm not a fan of balls or pubic hair on dildos.

I don't like playing with things that are too realistic - they make me feel strange. I guess it's partially because my partners and I have rarely seen eye to eye so the "real thing" can hardly compare to what I can do to myself, so I'd rather not be reminded.

I like non-realistic dildos and vibes -- realistic toys do not have the bells and whistles to produce the pleasures that I crave.

I prefer non-realistic. Have not yet found a realistic that I enjoyed enough to continue searching for them, not to mention few realistic have the option to have the power I crave.

We use both. For a long time we stayed with non-realistic toys - but if you think about it, a woman's sexual response mechanisms are designed to be fired by the unique shape of the male sex organ.
Once my wife got over the visuals - the feelings and orgasms convinced her that realistic definitely have a place in our bedroom.

They are both good, but I have had a lot of fun with non-realistic, whimsical toys. My realistic toys are Vixen Creations dildos. They're shaped and colored realistically, and the shape stimulates, but I don't reach for them as often as I do my other, colored non-realistic toys.

I like non-realistic toys, because if I wanted something real I would have sex with a real ife one.

Non-realistic. Realistic ones often just look really strange... and I'd honestly probably get upset by not having "the real thing" anyway.

I can't stand realistic things.

non-realistic.

I prefer non-realistic. They tend to look more appealing, and I don't feel like I'm using a disembodied penis to get off, since that seems a bit creepy to me

I want my toys to be a toy. If I want a penis, I have one I married. If it is my guy getting a pegging, he does not want a penis "in" him, he wants his lady wearing a toy, pleasuring him. In short, there is no reason our toys should look like anything but toys. We do, however, have one exception. I have bought him some "hands free masturbators" (look like a vagina/anus) so he can put his penis in while I peg him (although sometimes I reach around and manually stroke him). In the case of those toys, the idea is that he has to be visually stimulated (I am behind him, so it doesn't work that way), and while we do use a camera and TV screen sometimes, just the shape of the toy can influence his ability to maintain an erection using it. It is why when we have some real spare cash, I want to surprise him with a sexy "Real Doll".

doesn't matter, just as long as it gives me pleasure.

Realistic toys don't do it for me...sort of a turn off.
