I have heard of sex toy parties before, but never attended one or held one of my own. So I was just wondering if anyone knows what a sex toy party is anyways? Is it where you purchase sex toys? Do you take your own toys and show them off or something? I mean I don't know what it all consists of. It might be something fun to hold, but I don't know how it works, so can anyone explain what it is and what you do and all that?
Has anyone ever held/been to a sex toy party?

Hi Shannon! I'm actually a consultant for Passion Parties, or sex toy parties.
It's like any other in-home party. A consultant comes to your house, you get to touch feel and smell the toys, she gives you the whole run down about caring for your toys and lubes and such. and then she takes your order in private. Depending on which company, some are cash-and-carry so you get to take the order home that night, some you have to wait for the order to come in. They are very classy, they can be as mild or as wild as you like. They are LOADS of fun!!

Oh, and the best part of course, is that you get FREE products for being hostess! Usually a percentage of your sales. Hope you do host one, I'm sure you would love it!

Well I'm sure it would be fun, but I don't have many friends or people that would attend one right now. But I had no idea there were like consultants who came and helped with everything. That's awesome. If I ever would want to hold one then, how would I go about finding a "consultant" or company in my area to do one?

I was invited to one and declined. We weren't into toys much back then, and although I didn't want to be judgmental, the woman hosting the party (whom I know well) would have the parties with her preschool and grammar school aged children in the room. And she also invited one of my then teenaged daughters! EEEK! (I am good friends with the consultant's sister, and she told me that the woman often used the display models herself. Not AT the parties, but she used the toys for display in her own sex life. No.......just......no. ) I know this is NOT the way most consultant run their businesses, and most are much more professional.

I just felt very uncomfortable in that setting. I am all for being honest with children about sex, My Man and I are very open about sex, but our personal sex lives are not up for discussion, as I feel that goes over some boundaries that parents need to have with children.
I think if it has been an "Adults Only" sex toy party I MAY have gone, but my tastes are eclectic as well as sometimes hard core, and I prefer to buy my toys on my own time and don't know how I'd feel about my neighbors and friends knowing my personal proclivities and my kinks.

Yeah, that's what I'm not sure about too. Only very few people know that I review or even own sex toys. It's not like I'm ashamed, but it's just a personal thing. So I don't know if I would ever hold or attend one, I just wasn't even sure what they consisted of. Haha.

But yes, definitely should ALWAYS be adults only. I completely agree there!

Never been to one or have been invited to one. I don't think I could ever go though, not while I live with my dad. He's very nosy.
08/11/2010
I've been invited to a few, but I've never gone to any of them. One of my friends attended one and she said she felt really obligated to buy something.

I've attended about 10 of them and hosted one as well. They're pretty fun, but most of the products are the low-end toys with too high prices. The companies that do sell some of the high-end products charge a lot more for them too.
They consultants aren't suppose to allow anyone under 18 to be in the room during the parties and most companies don't allow men in the party either. The ordering is typically done in a private room (like a bedroom) while the guests nibble on snacks.

I went to 1 awhile ago. Around where I liv there aren't any adult toy shops. At the time I knew very little about toys (I had 1 vibe) and it was informative.

No children or men were present and overall it was fun and in good taste.

Luckily I have at least two adult toy shops in my area. One I have visited quite a few times. I now prefer EF though, because they seem much cheaper, and I absolutely love the review program.

Ducky DooLittle started one of those home party sex toy companies. It's education-based and only sells high-quality toys, so it's definitely a step up from the others, but the products are still way overpriced. $150 for a Rabbit Habit? I don't think so!

I haven't, but my mom & dad did many, many years ago. A female friend of theirs hosted it and it was called a "Beaus and Arrows" party. Only a few couples showed up, but they had toys, oils, candles, edible underwear, and anatomically-shape candy samples (Dolly Parton sucker anyone?). My mom says there was a whole bunch of different things. I've wanted to host a part like that for a very long time, it's just hard to get the money together and find a location and a way to advertise it. One day maybe... one day.

I've only been to one and it was, honestly, a horrifying experience. But that had a lot to do with the company that held it and the girl who hosted it.
My girlfriend at the time and I went, with another couple who were friends with the hostess. The party was completely targeted toward single, straight women. There was no talk of using toys with partners or anything of interest to a couple that wasn't traditionally heterosexual. There were novelty gifts--penis-shaped straws, penis-shaped noisemakers, penis-shaped-anything- you-put-in-your-mouth.
At the end, when the woman from the company was showing everyone the actual toys, I asked her what material one of the dildos was made of and her answer was, "I don't know, why?" What do you mean, "Why?" That was the last straw for us, we left without another word.
I suppose for the single, straight women, it was a lot of fun, and that's awesome for them. But for the other couple, a lesbian couple, and for my girlfriend and myself, a female and transguy couple, it was really uncomfortable. That, along with the complete inadequacy of the representative's product knowledge, has made me awfully wary of sex toy parties.

I went to one with a friend and thought it was fun so I decided to throw one for my sisters 18th birthday/ halloween
we had every one dress in sexy costumes. And i Spend all morning afternoon cooking. We had a good amount of friend cum but not one single person bought a thing. It was a bummer

I love hosting sex toys parties. My family hosts 2 or 3 a year. Our first one was through Pure Romance, they are ok. The girl we had was very rude, but the company is great, and has amazing products. Then the last two were through For Your Pleasure. They are a great company and our consultant is great. Our first party with her was amazing, she was like part of our family right away. And answered all of our question, even the personal ones.

I've been to one that was hosted by a group at my college. The had a LOT of toys for you to look at and see how they work (for vibrators you could feel how strong they were) so that you had the option to purchase them at the end of the night. We also played some games, one of them we had to pass a double ended dildo around with our knees, and had a couple of raffles for gift cards and other small toy prizes. Overall I would say I enjoyed it because we got to see and try toys as this is something that cant be done online or in most stores. I also think the person who hosted the party got to get stuff for a discount, which is always a plus
