This goes with the question I posted earlier. Would it help you decide between products if you saw them being used first in a real demonstration. Please feel free to comment.
Would you find it more helpful to see a practical, real demonstration of a product before you make up your mind to buy??

Unless it's something terribly convoluted, I don't see the need for a demonstration. Part of the fun is figuring out the rather simple sex toys for yourself. (at least for myself)

I agree with Random Pervert (hah, love your username!). Generally, a demo isn't necessary.
But sometimes a "demo" with the hand or a dildo can be helpful. Some of the video reviewers will illustrate how to use less conventional toys, like the Pure Wand, which requires more of a rocking motion rather than thrusting. I think that's helpful. But I don't think they need to drop their pants to show us how to use it (I wouldn't complain if they did, though..!).

I think that a "demo" would cross the line into pornography really fast and kind of begs the question: would you want to see your friends and acquaintances masturbate?

In video reviews, I like to hear how noisy they are through the camera so I know how loud it's going to be, but I wouldn't want a demo at all.

I am fine with just reading a good detailed review. I just need info on how well a product works, it's best uses, etc. Don't need to see it in action.
02/29/2012
That would be porn. I am fine with reading reviews and watching the videos.
02/29/2012
Not that I would care one way or another, but it is never -necessary-. Like mentioned above it is easy to show on camera how a toy works without ever putting it to actual use. Positwist gave a great example of that.

I think that each toy probably works in different ways for every one.. So a demonstration of "toys" might be a little more like porn rather then a review. BC as soon as I get my new toy, Im looking for the way it gets me off best.

I actually made a post about this in my blog. I admit, sometimes a toy makes me so curious, that I actually go to xtube and see if I can find people using it, just to witness first hand how it works.

I was just thinking that; if I want to watch porn, I'll watch porn. I really don't want the "adult content" videos on Eden go any further than they already have.

I'm not sure how any of the videos aren't marked as "porn", since technically, having a photograph of a dildo is "porn". I know this because we were required to remove our "pornographic" links to our website from another site when we discussed out trip to AVN.
I have chosen to not add product demos to my blog because I don't want to draw the "wrong" crowd to my site!

If I really couldnt decide I suppose it would help, couldnt hurt anyways. Or maybe I would get both!

A good detailed review and pictures of a product is enough, you can't tell exactly how a dildo or vibrator works inside anyways.

I agree with Stormy. I think that it would really take away from EF's classiness anyhow. Not only that but, I think that some of the nudity videos that are posted (with a lot of the massage candles and bath items) kind of go too far as it is. Theres really no reason to have a "live demo"

While I'd be more than happy to watch porn by a few users on here, I don't think this is the place for it. I don't know how seeing a toy go inside someone would give me a better idea of if it works or not.
02/29/2012
Not really sure what the point would be. Pics for size comparison are always helpful, but I don't think there is anything to gain from watching some random person use a toy. I watch porn when I want that, not check out reviews.
02/29/2012
Reading reviews and looking at a picture of the product is plenty for me, I would not be interested in watching a demo of the product.
02/29/2012
Not really. Reviews and pictures and video reviews are informative enough

You left out "other" hun!
I chose no, simply because in the case of the vast majority of products it isn't hard at all to imagine how they are used, and you have somewhat of an idea about the measurements for your anatomy too - so I don't think it would be something necessary, but yep, in some cases it would be very helpful... ^^

Not unless it's super complicated. However, pics in reviews are always helpful.

I really don't need to see somebody actually using it on themselves to get a better idea of how to use it. Seeing the video reviews where it can be explained without having to use it is good enough for me if I'm having a hard time figuring out what I can use something for.
03/01/2012
I think it wouldn't really be necessary unless it was a really complicated toy or if it involved one of my fantasies. (Almost went and spelled that like fantasys. XD ) Like the Jopen Intensity, I'd love to see someone using that, so I can see their real-time reactions. But I don't need to see a video of every vibrator I run across.

nope it wouldnt

That's more what I had in mind MeliPixie. Just the ones that aren't so obvious. There's one particular vibe that's shaped almost like an S and I cannot fathom what to do with it. Thank you for your post though.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I agree that most toys don't needs a demo, especially the more straight forward ones. I was thinking more on the lines of more unusual shaped toys who's use are not immediately obvious. I agree also that this isn't a site for porn, there are enough of those already.

I agree. For the simple toys no, but I've seen some toys with unusual shapes and the video demo, which was not too explicit, was helpful.
