Clitoral Sensitivity and Body Weight

Contributor: Bubba29 Bubba29
I just read an interesting article that got me thinking. The writer basically talked about how after she lost weight, her clit become more sensitive. This got me thinking about how my wife loves her eroscillator but is not too fond of her Hitachi because it is too intense. She is by no means skinny but I would not call her fat either. She has just the right amount to keep my hands busy.

Reading posts on these forums, it is obvious this is a group of confident women not afraid to talk about anything. I don't means offense but was just curious. Do you feel there is any correlation to body weight and sensitivity to different intensities of stimulation?

Useful topic breakdown on Oral sex enhancers:

Do you use favored condoms during oral sex?
I just want to know how many people are into it.

Do you/Does your man, always come from blow jobs?
Kind of curious if it is common for men to not come from oral sex. Of course during my early sex years most of the guys I was with would come just...

For those who enjoy 69'ing....
Do you use fingers, toys and other things, or do you keep it just mouth and tongue?

Does Oral actually count as sex?
long time debate..

Pulling the ballsack while blowing?
have you ever tried pulling on a guys ballsack...not the ball, but the scrotum...while giving head? not real hard, just enough to tighten the skin of

Interesting question. I'd like to hear as well.

On a related note, last year I met a women who was divorced w/kids (mid 40s) and had a history of troubles orgasming, but not long after she divorced she could cum ridiculously easy just from being touched outside her pants or rubbing her thighs together plus many many times in a session too. She can't explain the change, but I wish I knew how that happened and if it was a mental or physical thing.

I'd have to say being plus size I don't have any troubles with sensitivity. at least I don't think so I have been thinking about getting into better shape after I have my third baby, so maybe it could be a (Orgasm) little easier with better muscle tone.

OK, at one point I worked in the alternative medicine-naturalpathic industry and found out that if one's heart is healthy then you have an easier time for blood to flow to other regions such as your clitoris, penis etc. I'm not saying a person's weight has anything to do with it because a 180 pounds of muscles from staying healthy and active versus a 180 pounds of fat from staying stationary and eating junk is still 180 pounds but the person that is healthy and active probably has more sensitivity because there may be less blockage to their heart than the person that isn't active. That's my take on it.

Main point! KEEP YOUR HEART HEALTHY!

I'd think it all depended on the woman and the clit, not her weight. everyone is different but thats just me

I have a very muscular body type, clock in at a teeny bit 'overqeight' in BMI, but have a great waist/height ratio and very low fat percentage. I have a SUPER sensitive clit. Interesting topic!

that brings up another question. is it about blood flow or is it about full contact with the erogenous zone? is it possible that there could be good blood flow but the nerves of the clit may be shielded with a layer of cushion? i don't know, just thinking out loud. btw, as much as i would love to have one for about 3 weeks, i do not have a clit.

I have been very underweight (I had an eating disorder)and a little overweight and throughout both of those extremes I have had a very sensitive clit. So I don't think it changes for everyone.

Do mean a layer of fat? Not really, no. To me, what would make more sense in the different amounts of sensitivity are clitoral size, clitoral hood size, and basic sensitivity (which can be different from woman to woman based on a million things - including hormones, how your body reacts, etc.)

One thing I could MAYBE see having an affect is ease of access. If there is a lot of belly fat, or even fat over the mons it could make accessing that area more difficult - but still, that would only affect ease of access and not actual sensitivity.

Maybe the author just got healthier after losing weight. Hormones got back into shape, body image felt healthier (maybe less depressed?), and easier access to her anatomy. That would be my guess. But I'm no doctor.

hmmm. I personally think sensitivity has more to do with the amount of "practice" it's getting. It seemed to me, the more I experimented and the more I got used to masturbating and having sex, the more sensitive I became, and the more pleasurable everything got. If it makes a difference, I have gained weight during the whole time (so I've basically had the opposite trend as the article...but don't really think weight and sensitivity correlate).

I am wondering if maybe she had the same experience, but just happened to lose weight during that time?

This is completely opinion of course! And as always, everyone's different, too.

I doubt there's any correlation with clit sensitivity, as it relates to body type. Certainly you can find issue's with movement. However, when I was young, I knew women on the plus side who had the agility, flexibility, and speed of a gymnast. Oh, to be young again. Obviously though, weight and age will inherently play some part in agility and pain at some time in one‘s life. When I say pain, I mean arthritis or back pain for example.

Clinically I would say NO (or perhaps, not directly).

Body weight may affect ability to reach/manipulate clitoris but should not have any DIRECT effect on sensitivity.

That said there is no such thing as standard or average clitoris sensitivity. It's all subjective, one person is totally different to another.

That said a person who was overweight may find when they lose weight that they are more able to reach/manipulate their clitoris thus interpreting an increase in sensitivity.

Speaking INDIRECTLY an obese or heavily overweight person MAY have certain health factors that decrease (or increase) libido or sex drive thus interpreting a decrease (or increase) in clitoris sensitivity.

We need more data thought.

Is anyone else able to comment on this topic?

Anyone who has lost or gained weight.

Guys should also be able to comment. Anatomically speaking the penis is a clitoris so any guys out there who have lost gained weight could possibly comment on the similarity of this factor.

I have run the through many variations of ridiculously thin to very overweight and everything in between. I don't think the physical weight ever affected my sensitivity.

I think much more can be your state of mind. In reference to the newly divorced women mentioned by Trysexual, divorce can be very liberating.
When I was still with my ex, I had a terrible time coming to orgasm. I needed harder pressure and more intense motion. But maybe it was because I was unhappy at the time.
With a partner that makes me happy in all aspects of life, all I need is a phone call and a few choice words to wet myself.

Remember sex begins in the mind and spreads pleasure throughout the body.

I will admit that I am a fairly overweight woman. I have always been extremely sensitive when it comes to that area. I have put on quite a bit in the last year alone due to having a baby and being diagnosed with insulin resistance. I have not noticed a difference in my clitoral sensitivity whatsoever. It may just vary from person to person .

Interesting question posited; however, I think orgasms are subject to a large number of variables that focusing on one might show correlations but paints a narrow picture. I know my mental state, stresses, my current state of health, etc all play into how effective/easy it is for me to orgasm. But I know my own sensitivity changes based off of how often I masturbate/have sex... Again think there are too many factors + how these factors change from individual to individual are different. But still interesting to think about.
