So, Im not really into the whole "kinky scene" but I would definitely want to try something unique with my husband. What would (those of you that have "been there done that") suggest to start out with?

Which one for beginners?

Which would you say would be a great starter kit for us beginners? Something that isn't too crazy, but a light teasing/pleasing set.

Don't waste your money on the Bondage Seductions. I like the sportsheets sets but the only problem with them is that you need something convenient to attach the tethers too. I'd go for something like the 4 in 1 Handgrips, just because they are so versatile. Use them just as handcuffs, under the bed, over the door, etc.

If you don't know if you'll like it, I recommend going with something cheaper.

I chose Bondage Basics simply because it has the most of it, and though the game is a cool idea but one can look such things up online just as fine...
Though I would have gone for anything cushy and fuzzy, but leather indeed lasts longer and you can use it for a little bit of rougher play, not to mention that if you are interested in Shibari then you wanna experience it too how a beginner rope feels like, experiment with the different knots and patterns, learn a few basic techniques before you go further...
But all in all, I would rather obtain everything one by one, two good pairs of cuffs, something sturdy but not too harsh, like leather cuffs instead of metal handcuffs, a somewhat longer silk rope, a blindfold to shut all the light out, a few chains, joints, tethers, because you wanna be able to adjust things too...
Would also get something for spanking too, something what has a furry side and can cause soft and hard pain too, something what is very easy to handle with precision, like a good riding crop, a good leather fuzzy paddle, and a rubber whip, plus a leather whip, for the two different strengths of effect... ^^
W/we rarely get any specific kink items what don't have too many versatile ways to use, because with most of the basic cuffs and ropes you are good to go when it comes to different positions and lengths of ropes and chains, not to mention that metal chains are wonderful for temperature play too, and they don't torture your wrists and ankles like metal handcuffs do... That's why wide leather cuffs are the best, especially with some fur inside for cushioning... And same goes for a good collar and a leash, try to choose something wide and soft and reliable, made of leather or something as strong, with a large enough ring for the collar, and some leather or chain leash, chain can feel cold when it touches you, so you wanna know ahead what you would enjoy more!
Oh and don't forget the clamps too, something adjustable or tweezers will work wonderfully, I go for the adjustable clamps, they can be set gentle though they slip off easy too, unless you can handle a little more pain... But they stay on better than tweezer clamps in my opinion...
That's pretty much it, good luck with your decision!!!

First bondage kit is a pretty good one for anyone who likes light play or is beginner! I like the japanese silk rope too, but you only get the rope, not a kit Good luck and I hope you love what you decide on

Beginners bondage fantasy is the one I think I have. 4 restraints and a blindfold. It's relatively inexpensive compared to that $78.99 one.

Don't spend too much till you know it works for you. We tried and it was NOT our cup of tea at all.

Get a basic kit and try some things out, the "our first" kit looks to be pretty decent and definitely is priced nicely.

Thanks to everyone that responded! It sounds like we'll probably go with the beginners bondage, just because it has a little of everything to try out. Its definitely something that I think will give us an edge in the bedroom We need a lil sprucing up in there lmao! Hopefully we like it, if not, we won't be out too much money. The funny thing is, hubby hasn't a clue Im looking into this, so can you imagine his surprise when he opens my next shipment teehee!!

We personally aren't into blindfolds, but we do like wrist cuffs, and collars and leashes. Depends on if you like light "tickle/feathers/silk" type bondage or "light pain/leather/chain" bondage. But, if you don't even know if you'll like it, get something cheap and work up if you end up enjoying it.

The first one. You are going to be a beginner, after all.
03/05/2012
Yeah, the Our First set looks the best, but there's a lot of common house-hold items (neck ties, scarfs, etc) that can be used too.

The "our first bondage kit" seems like the best idea to me - small investment for something new. You can always go back and spend the big bucks on higher quality gear after you figure out what you like.

You should get the first beginners set, because it will be so much fun to tie your lover up a little bit and have your way with him. Or vice a versa

Been thinking about this myself for the bedroom and good to see I can get an idea from this poll.

What is the difference between the two $20 Sportsheets kits? They look exactly the same to me.
I'd go with either one of those since $80 is a lot to spend on something you might never use again.
