I read a lot of books by Christine Feehan, but they are paranormal romance and I'm uncertain if that's what you are looking for. Her Dark series has a great story line (in my opinion) and smut. She has other series as well as some single titles. My absolute favorite is Lair of the Lion which is a take on Beauty and the Beast stories.
