Join us Tuesday night on July 27th from 7 p.m. EST to 11 p.m. EST for the next installment of our Naked Reader Book Club discussion.
This week, we are talking about two books:
Can't Help The Way That I Feel - Edited By Lori Bryant-Woolridge
Can't Help The Way That I Feel is a collection of African-American erotic stories that..in the words of Sundae, who reviewed this title, are a "celebration of the diversity and beauty of these women, which is wonderful - race does not define the stories, it merely flavours them. It allows a diverse and interesting representation of African American people in erotica, which often seems to be dominated by a very narrowly defined, pale-skinned image of women or overtly focused on race when it does feature in works."
and
Making The Hook-Up - Edited by Cole Riley
Making The Hook-Up also has an African-American theme and Airen, who reviewed this title, says "This is a beautiful soulful look at love, sex and life from an African American point of view that never the less speaks to any and all people. It is lush, lyrical, humorous, and sad all-in-one anthology and the writers are superb storytellers that wind you into the story before gently disengaging leaving you feeling full and satisfied."
If you've not yet joined us for a Naked Reader Book Club meeting, what are you waiting for? Reading the book beforehand is not required - all you need to bring is the desire to have a good time and maybe win some prizes!
This week I've suspended the posting requirements for the gift cards – since previous weeks y'all have blown my estimates out of the water. We will be awarding 2 -$25 gift cards and 1 -$50 gift card to three lucky people. Show up for one entry, tweet about it for additional entries before and during the discussion using the hashtag #nakedreader.
Our discussions are, once again, hosted by our guest moderator, award-winning erotica author and editor Kristina Wright. So, get the word out! Invite your friends! Tweet it! Blog it! We hope to see you all tomorrow night!
