I guess that it depends on the costume. I like when it is creative.
What do you think of when you see a revealing Halloween costume?

sexy

I agree! If a girl wants to dress a little sexy for halloween, she at least better make the effort to make a good costume. Like you said, you can tell when the person is actually trying, and when they are putting on their sluttiest clothes just to be the sexiest girl out that night (I agree, I HATE it when I see a girl who just put on some cat ears and think that counts!)

If the party is in a place where sexy costumes are acceptable and she's not the only one dressed like that, I love sexy costumes. They can be a lot of fun! Of course, if the sexy costume comes out at a party with people from the office who shouldn't see you like that, it may be poor taste.
The costume also makes all the difference. If the girl just threw on her sluttiest black outfit and then threw a witch hat or cat ears on her head, I see a girl whose main objective was to be sexy, with the "costume" part of the outfit coming only as an afterthought. If you take some time to create a GOOD costume that happens to be sexy, I love it. Sexy cosplay or crossplay outfits are wonderful. I don't even mind costumes like "sexy giraffe" or "sexy watermelon" or any other sexualized costume you want to come up with, as long as you spend just as much time on the main costume idea as you do on the sexy bit.
For a costume party where sexy costumes are appropriate, I love a bit of sex when combined with a good effort at a creative costume. The store-bought "sexy costumes" like the sexy police officer and sexy maid show to me that your agenda was to be sexy, not to have a creative costume, and I don't love that. I'd save those costumes for the bedroom and think of something better for a costume party.
In short, sexy costumes are great if you want to wear them and you do so in the right situation. BAD costumes, sexy or otherwise, make me sad. less

I really just don't care for the most part. They're not for me, but I don't care what other people wear.
10/30/2012
I don't mind that people wear them. That said, I do find many of them to be flat out dumb. Even worse are the corny, lewd male costumes (like one I saw in the store: "good in the sack" - a guy in a sack wearing a nametag that says "good" - it was so stupid I was tempted to vomit on it to prevent someone from buying it.)
10/30/2012
Used to be that people got creative with Halloween costumes. Now it just seems that the goal is to look relatively like someone or something, but get the shortest skirt possible. The loss of creativity is what kills me...
11/03/2012
Depends on the context of the situation, but I always applaud those people for their self confidence.
12/04/2012
I wear slutty Halloween costumes ALL the time. I figure, if someone doesn't like the way I look... They don't have to LOOK!
12/04/2012
I prefer imaginative or scary costumes over slutty ones.

I'm more neutral, but sometimes it depends on who is wearing the costume.

I don't care.

Really depends on the location and how revealing.
02/01/2013
Depends, really. Some people would just wear it inside for sexy time...but then you have the clueless girls who just walk out in public in basically a fancy bo-peep bra and mini skirt showing cheeks and they think they're cute.

i don't see a problem with sexy costumes in and of themselves, the problem is when it seems like they're the only kinds available to women. i also have a problem with younger girls costumes being more and more sexualized, that freaks me out. oh and "sexy native/slave/mexican/e tc" costumes are always in bad taste.

I think, "Oh, yeah, I remember when I used to wear those". lol If I had the figure to pull it off, I'd still be rocking them.
03/27/2013
I have mixed feelings, so in this case I wish there was an 'other' option. If a girl has the body for it, and its not just a little black dress with cat ears and a tail, then go for it! But I don't want to be seeing a size 6 on a size 12 girl. That's disgusting. Wear the right size! I actually like sexy when done right, but funny or scary is just as good, if not better at times. That brings up another point! At times, sexy is just not appropriate! Don't let your 12 year old out of the house in a damn playboy bunny outfit. That just ain't right! If kids are present in general, be decent.
03/27/2013
I don't mind them. They look good on a lot of people and sometimes I will break one out too.

I really think that it depends on the girl, the context, the attitude that accompanies it and all sorts of deciding factors (including my mood). If a girl wears a slutty costume but absolutely rocks it, or adds fun accessories or puts on a voice to keep in character, I think that it's fantastic. If a girl picks up the skimpiest thing that she could find in a package at a costume store and pairs it with some high heels before proceeding to get drunk and hang all over everyone, I'm not going to be amused. I think that this is in line with some of what has been said earlier in the thread, but I wanted to put it in my own words.

It's kind of over done and it's become annoying. I don't like seeing girls walking around with their butt/breasts/vag flopping out. I don't like seeing guys walk around without a shirt or with their wang or bum poking out. There are ways to be sexy without coming off like a skank.
