I was wondering if anyone else felt this way? I feel like the stress of planning and making everyone happy for New Years Eve ruins the fun of the holiday.
Is there more stress than fun surrounding New Years?

No stress. I'm more excited about what I will be cooking.

no stress...new years is kinda meh

I usually hang out with family for New Year's, but since I'm never the hostess it doesn't add any stress to my life. In fact, I look forward to it some years. Our family gathering is very low key.

We only have our kids and our parents around for New Year's so I'm not too worried about impressing anyone. It's pretty low stress in our house.

As long as I can find a group of friends with the same ideas of fun for the night, it's a great time and I don't even mind hosting a party. What's stressful is when I don't have plans with anybody who wants to do the same sort of things I want to do, or, like this year, all of my friends are out of town!
I guess it's like Valentine's Day. Great if you get to celebrate in your ideal fashion, but stressful/annoying/sad if you're not doing what you want to do.

We don't go anywhere and don't have anyone here, so it isn't stressful at all.

It's fun for me.

That's kinda how I feel. I don't find it particularly fun or stressful, just another day to me.

I actually avoid plans with others to that it can be nonstressful We cook yummy food...usually have some shrimp and steak and such....and I try one new recipe. We have a quiet night with the kids playing games and eating food and letting them stay up. Usually, we're in comfy jammies the whole time and it's very calming.

It is fun for me.

It's only stressful because of my mother - C and his friends are spontaneous whenever we all get together, and my mother (since I'm living in her house) has to know where I am so she won't worry so much, blah-blah-blah. *facepalm* (Can't WAIT to move out ... )

Still enjoying my New Year! My small group of friends gets together each year at one of our houses. Everybody sleeps over. It's low-key and fun. Definitely different now that almost everybody has kids. But still no stress and all fun.

It was a lot of fun and easy, since I didn't do anything

We avoid the stress by not having beg events - we just get together with a few friends and have a good time.
