I personally prefer floggers - the sensation is a bit softer, but it's also more spread out. Thoughts and opinions?

I use both floggers and whips when I play. Besides the difference is surface area covered with each strike the sensation the bottom receives is vastly different. Floggers can be stingy but they can also be thuddy. You would want a flogger with soft leather falls for more thud and a flogger made with a tougher leather for more sting. With whips,( you mean whips that can crack like Indiana Jones type whips right?) whips are not going to be thuddy at all. There is going to be a sharp sensation and a very centered point of impact. You won't get much spread with a whip.

They're incredibly different sensations. Though a whip can be literally used like a singletail as opposed to cracking it, whips are still very different. Floggers can sting, sure, but nothing comparable to the bite of a whip.
I like both, for various reasons. Floggers are great warm-up, and can range from soft to so damn thuddy that they make the receiver move. Because of the fact that floggers have multiple tails, they tend to not be as abrasive as singletails or whips. However, there are many "floggers" I've seen that are unique that go against this general line of thinking.
What else would you like to know about them?

I prefer floggers, though I have little experience with whips.
