My experience with hickeys were with insecure high school chicks that wanted to "claim" their man. So in that way, it's trashy. I don't want to see someone's hickeys. It's your business, have fun, but I don't want to know.

Also, it depends on intent. Sometimes my partner will put a hickey on my butt just for kicks. And it is funny to us. But we don't do hickeys other than that rare, funny, occasion.

Hickies is something I experienced when I was in my teens. To me, it was just something that showed everyone else that you made out with someone. Hickies pretty much became a thing of the past after that time period.

This thread is much more appropriate; I came across another thread early this morning asking the same thing, but it pissed me off because that contributor branded people who liked hickies as trashy, and I can't find that thread anymore.

My husband and I still give each other hickies occasionally, it's one of the ways for us to show our affection towards each other, and as long as they're not visible to other people, I don't think it's trashy at all.

I agree with Travelnurse, I think they are okay as long as they can be hidden with clothes. I always make the comment when a guy goes to kissing on my neck that they BETTER NOT leave ANY marks! If you want to leave them on my breasts or anywhere that is covered by my REGULAR clothes then so be it. I wear tons of low cut stuff so if you can leave them where they don't show I don't have an issue. If I see them all over someone I think it makes them look trashy especially in the work place

No offense, but trashy. I remember when a guy I dated in high school did it to me (I was young and stupid and didn't know what it felt like/what he was doing) and I was SO pissed and embarrassed by it. Thankfully, I have always had long hair so I could pretty much hide it for the most part. I was in an abusive relationship and he did it to my stomach one other time before I went on vacation to the beach, he was so controlling, I should've ran. I caught hell when my mom saw it. I probably looked like a skank to everyone else on the beach since I wasn't an adult (but I think it looks bad on them too). I just felt complete shame.
