Although I have been on EF for a while now I still consider myself somewhat of a beginner and I just learned about personal stores. I understand the concept behind them and read a few posts about them but I really wanted to hear from everyone that has a personal store, is it worth it? Do you really get that much traffic to keep it up? And really how much effort goes into your store? I'm always looking for new and fun things to do and this definitely appealed to me but I wasn't sure about it. Post, discuss, and just have fun.
Do you think a personal store is worth it?

I don't have one yet either, but I've been debating it. Here's a little more info on them: link
They aren't a lot of work I don't think, but I can't speak about traffic or usefulness because I don't have one. Hope this helps a little!

Yeah that was the same post I've been to that got my interest peaked but I still wonder if it's still worth it. If you do open one up let me know and I'll be some traffic on your store

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking when you say "Is it worth it?" but the personal stores are like any other venture in that your success is related to your efforts.
An Eden Personal Store requires you to have a domain, which costs about $8-12 per year. We offer free hosting, but you can choose to host the store yourself. So the only real money cost is the domain. But a store is only what you make of it. It isn't realistic to think you can set up a store, add some products and a banner, then walk away and wait for the affiliate checks to roll in. If you want to make significant commission, you would need to personalize your store, find your niche, and promote your store to your targeted audience. If you have a blog or site already set up with an audience, you can gear your store toward their wants and needs.
Read more info on Eden Personal Stores here. Email partners@edenfantasys.com with questions.
On a somewhat related note...
Perhaps you'd like to consider onsite personal stores which are simpler to setup and are located on EdenFantasys. Check out the onsite stores that by other community members. If you'd like to have one yourself, just send a request with your username and the store name to partners@edenfantasys.com. Be sure to have a unique idea and name for your store.

I guess I didn't realize the full extent that personal stores went to. I definitely understand better now and I've got a lot to think about. I think it's a great idea especially since I already promote SO many of the products on edenfantasys but I need the time to invest and find a niche like you say. Thank you.

I've been trying to think what my niche would be for my store. I think I want one, and I think it would be a great thing to have, but for now, I think I will just build up my knowledge base and see if I can better find out what I'd want to have in a store. Plus, I want my blog to gain some footing, too.

I can totally understand that. That's another thing, I don't have a blog so I don't know how I would really advertise it.

Yeah, I'm just in the process of setting up an onsite store. I don't know how "worth it" it will be. But since I don't have a "real" job, what have I got to lose?

Do you already have a website that you can advertise it on though?

I'm glad to see this question, as that is something I was wondering about, too.
For me, based on what I've read -- a stores not worth it. But that doesn't mean it's not worth it for you, or anyone else.

I think I agree. I think it would be a great opportunity for someone who has the ability to advertise it but I don't really have a way of getting the word out for my store. Maybe in the future when I have more contacts I'll do it because I do like the sounds of it.
