Pads. I have such a light flow, I just slip one on and it lasts a while
Your period... DO you prefer tampons or pads?

Pads irritate my skin and feel dirty... sometimes I need both, but if I can get away with it I only use tampons.

I use a cup and hand sewn washable cloth pads. Tampons are evil things D:

For this post tampons but I love Softcups!!!

I use menstrual cups. Infinitely better than pads and tampons in every way.

I am a pad user all the way. Had a horrible experience with tampons as a teenager and haven't been able to use them since. I am find with using pads, although I hate the diaper feeling, but have confidence in them so I use them.

I like the thought of tampons....kinda but I can't wear them. So I'm stuck with pads. Tampons hurt me but I will still wear on occasion if needed.Even though the doctor told me I should'nt!

I just tried a menstrual cup this month for the first time & I couldn't BELIEVE how fantastic it was. I fell in love immediately. I had used mostly tampons before, but I'm a college student on a tight budget & they are pretty expensive when you add it up. I've heard that they don't work with some people's anatomy, but they were great for me.

Pads, definitely. Then tampons when I shower or when my flow is light.

I use pads because I want the blood to come out.I just can't stand the thought of trapping it inside of me.
06/13/2012
Liners. I don't bleed enough any more to need a pad or tampon anymore.
06/13/2012
tampons, i bleed too heavy for pads ... that would just be gross and messy
06/13/2012
Neither. Thank god I switched to the cup. So much better than tamps and pads.
06/13/2012
I use mama cloth now and I love them

I really wanted to use menstrual cups, and I've tried them, but I have a tilted uterus, so they don't work for me.
I use cloth pads now, which are WAY more comfortable than the sticky ones they sell in the stores. I don't like tampons, but when my period's heavy I'll wear one to bed with a pad.

Pads. For some reason, I can't be comfortable with a tampon.

Definitely, definitely use a menstrual cup if you don't already (I've been using a 'keeper' for 10 years now). It's worlds better than tampons or pads, as many others here have already noted. However, I sometimes use a sea sponge on the last day of my period when my flow is at its lightest, or if I'm going to have sex on my period (the sponge absorbs the flow/acts as a dam while still allowing for penetration). Back before I disovered cups, I used o.b. tampons. And even today, every now and then when I do use a commercial tampon, I prefer a light absorbency type or an organic non-applicator type. As for pads, I try to avoid them altogether because I really really dislike that wet leaking feeling, however, when I do sometimes use them I have my own stash of cloth pads. They are washable, reusuable, more comfortable than disposables, and much better for the environment. It's also worth mentioning than since I switched to using the cup/sea sponge method, the length of time for my flow to complete has shortened. It used to be 5-6 days. Now it's down to 3-4. Definitely a bonus
