MEEE!!! The littlest thing can make me cry around the time of my period! It's so damn annoying.
How many women find they get really emotional at that time of the month?
06/06/2011
It honestly just depends. When I was younger, I was a wreck from the day before I started to menstruate until a few days afterward. But as I've grown, it's more of a once in a while thing. I'm actually more moody when I'm ovulating.

My ex used to have some major mood swings

I'm a total bitch.....and it's only been that way since having kids....

im normally an emotional wreck right before i start.

Sometimes I get emotional depending on what's happening when it's that time of the month. I also tend to get irritated really easily.

When I'm actually menstruating? No, I'm perfectly fine. It's the week before that kills me. Seriously. Someone said something to me this week that hurt my feelings and I literally cried for five minutes before I told myself to get over myself. And then I ranted and raved about it with a friend.
I get super annoyed with women who act completely irrational and then stand up and say "nuh-uh my period doesn't affect me". Horse-hockey. Just admit it. Once you admit it, you can recognize when you're about to fly off the handle and take a minute to calm yourself down. /mini-rant
Of course, not all women become irrational or try to shoot death lasers with their eyes and I envy them. I really do.

I know we are all accustomed to hearing stories of women being really emotional, unpredictable or just plain bitches when they are on their periods. I wonder how many of us this is actually true for. When I was younger I didn't really change much emotionally when I was menstruating, aside from being a bit crabby from the pain/blood oozing from my vag. However during my first pregnancy I found myself crying at the stupidest shit you can imagine(episodes of Ghost Whisperer, My reflection, etc). Since then I have become accustomed to being surprised by random emotional outbursts during my period.
How many people does this effect, and how many of you found that it changed drastically after a pregnancy?
This Question is open to men too, as you may have noticed emotional changes in your wife or significant other that they do not see.
(About watching Ghost whisperer, in my defense, I only had one tv station.) less

It varies, but there have for sure been times when I feel more annoyed and have a negative outlook on just about everything!

I haven't been pregnant but yeah.. I get seriously emotional. Though I think the intensity really depends on my stress levels.

I get emotional & dramatic before menstruating. And I guess during as well. During though I'm mostly just tired and don't want to do anything (for that first day).

I get really emotional during my period for some weird reason and I really wish I didnt and I get upset over the smallest things
08/07/2011
I have endometriosis and the hormone pills I take for it make me completely nuts. That's on top of the severe pain and excessive bleeding. My partner and I have a set routine when it pops up every 4 months though, keep me on my pain meds, lock me in my room and keep the house as quiet as possible. Lol.
08/07/2011
I am psycho, I get super nutty, yell all the time. I am one big BITCH! Plus I cry a lot. Then I am horny as hell. Then cycle back to bitchy! LOL I honey always says that I am one psycho bitch on the rag. I think I scare him, when it is time. HEHE. I take the pill to try to help with these things. It helps a little, but with cramping and making it shorter. I am still just as nuts! LOL Oh well!

It all really depends... Sometimes my emotions are overwhelming, other times they are not during that time of the month...

I couldn't help but laugh at the last option in the pole, and that thier two names. Brave souls they be.

It depends. Some months seem worse than others. If I am stressed and have my period than it's likely I will be a lot more emotional.

huge mood swings for me. I usually go from being really mad about nothing to crying to feeling like everything people say to me is an insult, which is a huge swing from my normally calm personality. It's pretty easy to tell, but really hard for me to control!
08/26/2011
I am an emotional wreck right now!
08/26/2011
I go between bitchy and sad and lonesome and I'm kinda needy really. I just want to cuddled and loved on for a few days before and the day it starts. Then I'm usually good to go. My man usually says "aren't you going to get your period soon?" because it's obvious apparently.
08/26/2011
I think I'm starting early menopause, like my mother and grandmother did. I generally have 32-33 days between periods, instead of 28-30 like I used to, and my periods themselves are much shorter. I usually get a migraine right at the start, but I no longer get irritable.
08/26/2011
I go crazy the week before. Mad, sad, happy - all extremes for no reason.
08/26/2011
I turn into a bitch !!!!!
08/27/2011
I never have very stable emotions, but during my period, sometimes I'm even less stable than usual. Not always though. I don't know why sometimes are worse than others.
08/27/2011
I get crabby during my period, which may be due to hormones a bit, but I think is more due to the fact that I'm in horrible pain and, you know, bleeding from my privates.
The women in my family get it really bad during our periods. We really bleed a lot, and the cramps are so awful ibuprofen doesn't always help.

Yeah, sometimes I get really emotional during my period, usually just cranky but sometimes I cry over things I never would usually.
09/29/2011
I don't get emotional during my period, but I do get emotional when I'm ovulating. I'm normally a very quiet, reserved stoic, but I will lose my head while I'm ovulating. I will get super pissy about the simplest things followed by being upset when I realize how dumb I'm feeling. During a recent cycle, I was changing clothes one afternoon and couldn't find the shirt I wanted; so I plopped down on the floor and balled my eyes out for half an hour. Thankfully, I live alone.
09/29/2011
I have always been an emotional wreck during that time of the month and it hasn't changed after two kids
