I seem to experience this quite frequently, but only when I use a vibrator, or if I am semi-close to orgasm with my OH (without toys). I can only orgasm with intense clitoral stimulation, and I don't get headaches when I orgasm by myself without any aids. Does this happen to you? Do you know why?
Women, do you ever get headaches after you orgasm?

I don't know why I get such a massive head pain after I orgasm, but it happens maybe once or twice a month. Doesn't matter if I am with a partner or on my own, it just seems that the stronger the orgasm, the more pain in my head.
Thankfully; it only lasts a moment or two!!! Sorry, I couldn't be a better help!

It happens sometimes if I am having a hard time getting there. It's a tension headache from clenching my jaw.

Weird! I've never heard of this.

Never heard of that

I've never experienced a headache after an orgasm. I imagine that would be a real downer.

A couple of times when I was with Mulder - I had read about it before, but was still surprised when it happened. It struck about two minutes after all was said and done, and I had to lean on the shower wall to wait for it to calm down. It went away after a minute or so.
Also got one when I was reviewing a weird rabbit vibe (but I think that had to do with it sounding like a hand-mixer).

If I am trying hard to do it, and think I am holding my breath, then I do get a headache after or even before the orgasm.
If I remember to breathe in a healthy way, then it usually doesn't happen.
Orgasmic headaches are very common. They are believed to be due to either holding one's breath, tightening muscles etc while attempting to orgasm or from the massive vascular dilation that happens before orgasm.
I had a lover who had this problem. Cuddling was a problem, because he'd be in pain after sex and not want to be touched. At first I thought he was trying to get out of cuddling, but then I realized he was in real pain. I was young and didn't know what caused it then, and I felt bad for him.
It wasn't until I was older that I started having this problem sometimes. It only happens to me when I am already taking a while getting to climax and I'm pushing it.

Here's some info on sex causing headaches by the Mayo Clinic

I have never experience this, but sometimes an orgasm helps relieve a headache for me.
04/21/2012
I used to get them sometimes because I was already getting a headache before. But,other times it's been because I was laying my head in an uncomfortable position before I had the orgasm and the orgasm would cause me to tense up while in that position.I've noticed even if I tense up while having the orgasm if my head isn't turned to the side or laying uncomfortable I don't get a headache.

This has not happened to me, but it has happened to a friend of mine.

I'm not female bodied, but I definitely get headaches occasionally after orgasms.

I was just thinking about breathing and tension as I read your post - thanks for this suggestion! I think this might be one of the issues so I'll try to be more aware of this next time.

Sometimes an orgasm will trigger a migraine for me. Or if I had one lurking, it will bring it out. i have to be very careful not to exert myself like that if I'm at risk of developing one at the time.

No, this hasn't happened to me as of yet.

nope.

YES - just happened yesterday. These are the worst headaches EVER. It only happens once and while with solo vibrator use.
Typically these are not headaches AFTER orgasm - they start immediately with my orgasm and are full blown, mind crushing, white fire exploding from the center of my head aches by the time the wave is over.
There is actually some academic literature on this. I think the jury is still out on the cause - - though I suspect it is blood pressure related, at least in my case.

This doesn't happen for me. I may have gotten a headache after masturbating once or twice in all the many times I've done it, but it's definitely not something I can expect at all.
